Hi, long time no see ^_-

I was busy

Busy? *looks skeptical* Been gone long enough.

Yeah, well had things to do so…

So nothing, about time you got back here! *gets crafty glue gun and makes sure blog can’t take off again*

Hey, that’s not fair

*grins* Yeah, I know.

Ok, now that that’s all settled, sorry for the disappearing act but as they say in television, we were interrupted for some technical difficulties! But things are settled now and we’re back once again.

It’s been a hectic crafting time for me as the holidays have come and gone. One of the wonderful things about crafting is being able to make someone else happy with something you’ve made. This Christmas, it happened to be my mother-in-law with an afghan I made for her gift from us. It is more of a gift for me when I see the joy/surprise/happiness/apprectiation for work done in someone’s expression as they open their gift. That’s the think about handcrafting something. You make it because you want to and you make it for someone because you want them to have it.

Every so often someone will ask what I charge for something I make. I’ve never been able to price anything. I know it take my time, time I could spend doing something else. But to see their reaction when they receive it, well I just can’t put a price on that. Now I’m not saying people shouldn’t sell handmade items. I am saying that it seems to be something I can’t do. I enjoy the happiness too much to put a cost on it.

This applies especially to my friends and friends-yet-to-meet in the Harry Potter fandom. I’ve gifted, traded, swapped and found myself the reaper of such wonderful rewards in people met and memories made. That’s what I’ve enjoyed the most about my crafting is the memories that have been made as I’ve made and delivered each project.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a couple of more memories in progress on my hook!
