Kenneth Branagh stars in trailer for Nolan’s WWII action thriller, ‘Dunkirk’

Sir Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart) stars in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, alongside Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and acting debut Harry Styles.

Nolan – known for The Dark Knight and Interstellar – is directing the Warner Bros. action thriller set in WWII during the evacuation of the French city of Dunkirk, and based on a story of the Battle of Dunkirk on the beaches of Northern France when ‘hundreds of thousands of troops were stranded on the northern French coast in 1940 after the rapid German invasion’ (The Guardian).

A short summary of the plot is as follows:

“Dunkirk” opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.
