Happy Birthday to Julie Walters!

Julie Walters, best known to Harry Potter fans as the beloved mum of the Weasley clan, Molly Weasley, celebrates her 67th birthday today.

Walters has stayed busy since her time in the Potterverse, voicing the witch in Pixar’s Brave, and appearing in Paddington, the upcoming Paddington 2, and the British television series Indian Summers. Her performance in the acclaimed 2015 drama Brooklyn, co-starring Harry Potter alum Jim Broadbent, earned her a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

In her next project, as housekeeper Ellen in Disney’s highly anticipated sequel, Mary Poppins Returns, Walters brings more matriarchal magic to the home of the now adult Michael Banks.  As reported recently here by Leaky, the film, which is currently in production and scheduled to open Christmas Day 2018, stars Emily Blunt as the iconic nanny and Hamilton sensation Lin Manuel Miranda as new character Jack the lamplighter.
