A young composer with high-tech savvy, [Jeremy] Soule’s career is soaring in the video-game business, which is becoming a trendy industry for recording artists and musicians. Soule (rhymes with “goal”) created the score for this year’s hit “Harry Potter” games from Electronic Arts in Redwood City. … On Thursday, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences will present its Interactive Achievement Awards at a ceremony in Las Vegas. Soule’s “Harry Potter” score is among the material nominated.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the top U.S. box-office attraction of 2001 with $314.3 million and still counting, came up short when the Oscar nominations were announced — but if the boy wizard wants to cry all the way to the bank, he has plenty of other commercially successful Oscar busts to keep him company.
