While we wait for more

While we wait for more Harry Potter news, let’s turn to an interesting interview of J.K. Rowling from March 2000 in the Daily Record. In it, Rowling suggests who she visualizes playing certain characters:
Insiders also say that Rowling had visualised a predominantly British cast that included Scotland’s Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid, the school groundsman; Edward Fox as Bloody Baron; Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall and Dawn French as teacher Professor Sprout, with one concession to Hollywood in Danny de Vito as the ghost Peeves.
While her Peeves role went to British actor Rik Mayall, her choices for Hagrid and McGonagall are a reality. Perhaps we will see Dawn French and Edward Fox playing their suggested roles as well since we’re still waiting to hear who’s cast in those parts.
