To continue our slew of casting rumors, our parent site Harry Potter Galleries has posted the following rumor about Hugh Grant playing Gilderoy Lockhart in the second movie:

RUMOR: a reader let us know that Hugh Grant “was on the Rosie O’Donnell talk show a month ago (we confirmed that – early April 2001!), blatantly speaking about his procured role in the 2nd HP, inferring that he’ll be taking on the role of Lockhart. (We haven’t been able to confirm that! If you have watched that show, please let us know.)

HINT #2: Hugh Grant dressed up like Harry Potter during a presentation of the HP Comic Relief books, J.K. Rowling gave to readers of the English paper “The Mirror” on March 10, 2001. That confirms he and the author at least know each other and Grant has already been involved in some HP-related events. (Which HP-character comes to mind when you think about “book presentations” and “Harry Potter”? Yes!)
