J.K. Rowling’s fifth book in the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, “is being written and may be delivered later this year,” according to Christopher Little, Rowling’s literary agent in London. Equally guarded is Scholastic, Rowling’s U.S. publisher. “As soon as we have a publication date, we’ll announce it,” says Kris Moran.

From Variety: Warner Bros. is set to capture half the Czech Republic’s box office for the first quarter. The local distributor holds the top three spots with “Harry Potter,” “Lord of the Rings” and “Oceans Eleven” and has a cumulative CZK120 million ($3.4 million) going into the last weekend.

A group of parents and teachers in Russell Springs, KY, wants about 30 titles dealing with witchcraft and ghosts removed from the Russell County High School library. The books include World’s Most Famous Ghosts by Daniel Cohen, Embraced by the Light by Betty J. Eadie, and J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. A review of the proposal cannot begin until someone files a formal complaint, says the school’s principal, Roger Cook.

The Leaky Cauldron is not associated with J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros., or any of the individuals or companies associated with producing and publishing Harry Potter books and films.
