Reuters reports that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince sold more than twice as many copies in the United States in its first two weeks as any other author’s book in a whole year. It won the Nielsen Bookscan Best Selling Award for the top-selling book in America through August 1, even though it had gone on sale only two weeks prior.
At 6,397,000 copies in the US in its first two weeks, it doubled the total of that of its nearest competitor, Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code. Thanks to Sandi!
