At tonight’s charity reading at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Jon Stewart introduced J.K. Rowling to an excited crowd. During his introduction Stewart said, “I look forward to each and every installment… I should be sitting out there with you.”
For the reading, Rowling read from Half-Blood Prince the scene where Dumbledore tells Tom Riddle he is a wizard. In response to some of the fan questions, J.K. Rowling said both that the relationship between a wizard and his wand would become more important in Book 7 and that if she were to look into the Mirror of Erised, Hermione would see both the war over and the trio fine, andherself closely entwined with a certain person whose identity you can probably guess. She also said the online “shipping wars” (very spirited discussions mainly between people who thought Harry and Hermione should end up together and those who thought Ron and Hermione should end up together) were like cyber warfare, and said what happens to Draco as a result of his not being able to kill Dumbledore will be addressed in book seven. More soon!
