Being Corrected Never Felt SO Good!

I told you yesterday how disappointed I was to hear about fans disrupting Catherine Tate’s play the night David Tennant went to see it. One of my readers, Helen, was nice enough to point out there’s some doubt about the reports. I checked into it, and she’s right. (Thanks to the folks at the former Outpost Gallifrey – I post over there as well, but I hadn’t seen the thread where Helen spotted the discussion!) The bottom line is, the tabs got it wrong, and yes, there were fans there to spot David, but none of them ruined the show or anything like that. Whew! Being wrong about something never felt so good!

I have always felt that Potter and Who fans are the best, and I’m so glad I don’t have to revise my opinion of that.

Now, on to other news! Digital Spy is reporting DT has been named the greenest star at Playhouse Disney’s Playing for the Planet Awards. I know he recently gave up his beloved Skoda for a hybrid. I haven’t heard about anything else he’s doing, but the awards seek to recognize any small way starts like David are trying to save the world. Tennant was picked from a short list of stars that included Harry Potter’s own Emma Watson for the honor.

Speaking of Catherine Tate… did anybody spot the rumors that Donna, Wilf and the Master could be back for one or two of next year’s Who specials? I can’t speak to the validity of the rumor… just that it’s out there. I’m wondering if they did that, how they’d get around Donna’s status at the end of series four. Maybe the Master would track them down using Time Lord tech? Maybe Donna’s hand was the one we saw at the end of series three picking his ring out of the ashes? Who knows? Could just be a rumor and nothing else. But fun to think about! Donna’s easily been one of my favorite companions — possibly because of the lack of romance between Donna and the Doctor. It was nice to see him just hang out with a mate for once — and to see Donna blossom from a dissatisfied temp going nowhere to the most important woman in the universe. She really was brilliant.

And speaking of Emma Watson… Leaky reported not too long ago that her movie Ballet Shoes is going to get a limited theater run (select markets, etc.) at the end of this month in the States. I’m not sure if I’m going to go or not… has anybody seen the flick on BBC1 who wants to review it? More importantly, would my nieces enjoy going to see it with me?
