“Half-Blood Prince” Film Nominated for Visual Effects Society Award

The “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” film has been nominated in the 8th Annual VES (Visual Effects Society) Awards, “recognizing outstanding visual effects artistry in over twenty categories of film, animation, television, commercials and video games.” The sixth Potter film recieved a nomination in the Outstanding Matte Paintings in a Feature Motion Picture category, along side such other films as “Avatar, “Franklyn,” and “Star Trek.” The VES Award nominees where chosen by “numerous blue ribbon panels of VES members,” and include such other visually stunning productions as “2012,” “LOST,” “9,” Up,” and “Coraline.”
The 8th Annual VES Awards will take place February 28, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.
