Today Show Contest: Class Trip to Wizarding World of Harry Potter (Updated)

This morning, NBC’s Today Show announced a brand new contest in correlation with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Orlando. The contest, open to US citizens “currently employed as a teacher of students between five (5) and eighteen (18) years of age in a U.S. school,” would allow for one class to be chosen for an trip to the opening of the Wizarding World theme park. In order to enter interested teachers and their classes, are required to produce a three minute or less video answering the question “Why is my class extraordinary?” Full rules, submission information, and parent/guardian permission procedures can be found right here.
Update: Further information has made available online for this contest via video from the Today Show segment, which gives a few more details about the contest. In addition to this, closer examination of the full list of rules, it is noted that voting for the winning class will begin “or about Friday, April 23, 2010, at 8:30 AM ET to Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 5:00PM ET.” While no announcement date or the like is contained in the rules and regulations, it does note, however, that travel arrangements must be made “minimum of twenty-five (25) days prior to travel.” The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is slated to open “Spring 2010.”
