Oxford University Common Room Changes Its Name to Gryffindor

The Telegraph reports that the Magdalen College Junior Common Room at Oxford University has been renamed “Gryffindor,” in honor of the Harry Potter series. Students voted to make this change because they believe their school represents some of the classic qualities of Gryffindor House, such as “courage, daring, nerve and
chivalry.” This is the first time the common room has been renamed in 550 years.
