J.K. Rowling’s striking propensity for being a constant source of happiness for countless children across generations is common knowledge – and she’s back on radar doing just that yet again, only choosing to do it in a much different way this time from what most of us are used to.

Innumerable children across the world live in conditions no one deserves, owing to circumstances nobody should have to be a victim to. In some cases, they get separated from their families and loved ones in their developmental stages, thereby growing up suffering psychological and often physical harm. Lumos aims to provide the unfortunate and the underprivileged with a better life with an approach that involves directly working with the children and youngsters.

Lumos’ work is based on evidence and universal principles. Our approach is tried and tested. We leverage the resources of others, identify and fill gaps and connect the efforts of partners. Our results are high impact, sustainable change. Individual children are central to all our decisions.

The Holiday Season is about gift giving and sharing and spreading love. This Christmas, you can become a part of Lumos and aid them in their noble cause by giving of your time, talent, and treasure. They’ve just launched an exciting series of global events to help some of the world’s most vulnerable children leave orphanages and regain their right to a family life! You can get more information about the campaign here on wearelumos.org. Every donation to Lumos gets spent directly on their programmes, and is bound to make a difference, and enrich the lives of nearly 8 million young people worldwide.

Follow them on Twitter and on their website to find out more. Remember – your donation could be the the reason a child across the globe from you smiles, and that’s about as magical as life gets!
