MinaLima reveals “Defenders of Hogwarts” board game

The legendary graphic design duo behind the Harry Potter film series, MinaLima, is stepping into the world of tabletop gaming. They have officially teased their latest project: Defenders of Hogwarts, an immersive board game that puts the fate of the school directly into the hands of the players.

In Defenders of Hogwarts, the threat of Lord Voldemort’s arrival is imminent. Designed for 2-5 players (ages 13+), the game challenges participants to explore the school grounds, hone their spell-casting abilities, and prepare for the ultimate confrontation with Death Eaters and Dark Forces that have infiltrated the school grounds.

However, the game offers a unique twist: you are not limited to the side of the light. Players must choose their path—will you stand as a loyal defender of Hogwarts, or will you join the ranks of the Dark Forces to aid and abet Voldemort’s rise to power?

Eduardo Lima, co-founder of Studio MinaLima, comments: “With Defenders of Hogwarts, we saw the potential to create a truly unique wizarding experience for fans. From the game mechanics and the world-building to the artwork and illustrations, every detail has been considered to capture the magic of the original films. We cannot wait for witches and wizards everywhere to create a whole new adventure in the world that they call home.’

MinaLima is incentivizing early supporters with a special deal: Fans who sign up for their mailing list and back the project at any tier during the Kickstarter campaign will receive a Defenders of Hogwarts™ exclusive pin, which will not be available through retail channels.

Defenders of Hogwarts has been developed MinaLima in partnership with award-winning industrial designer David Waterman in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. The game will be available to buy in a limited release online at selected retailers, at House of MinaLima locations and Harry Potter Shops from Autumn 2026,. Global release in multiple languages is planned for Spring 2027.
