A faithful reader just sent us this Theatrical Marketing Calendar from Warner Bros. for the Harry Potter movie. It’s a bit old and the date says “Plan as of 02/01” but I thought it gives a good overview of what’s going on. You’ll notice the next trailer is due out in July – in late April we said it would most likely be with the movie “Cats and Dogs”. Just a reminder that Cats and Dogs is premiering July 4th – less than 3 weeks from now.

You’ll also see that the third and final trailer is due out in September. Coming Attractions also said in April that they think the final trailer will appear in front of the WB movie Osmosis Jones. However, that movie is due less than a month after trailer #2 on August 2nd. The two Warner Bros. movies due out in September include “Rock Star“, a comedy starring Jennifer Aniston and Mark Wahlberg and “Training Day“, a cop drama staring Denzel Washington, Eva Mendes and Tom Berenger. My guess is that they’ll run it in front of the comedy.

Other items of interest include “Behind the Scenes” coverage starting at the end of July alongside press mailings and Scholastic appears to be hosting a huge Halloween event.
