Harry Potter may soon become the world’s biggest cartoon character. The Sunday Mirror reports today that J.K. Rowling has been holding secret talks with US giant Marvel Comics.
Joanne, 35, recently met Marvel’s new editor-in-chief Joe Quesada at her Edinburgh home. They discussed creating a new comic book series based on the schoolboy wizard as well as the possibility of making a children’s cartoon series. The talks, described as “very positive,” could net Joanne another fortune in addition to the pounds 65million she has made from her Potter books.
Marvel, which produces comics featuring characters such as The Hulk, Spiderman and X-Men, sell millions around the world every week. Mr Quesada said: “I’d like to see JK Rowling involved with comics. The qualities she would bring are evident – not to mention her built-in audience.”
