Student registration for HOL – the virtual Hogwarts simulation has started this weekend. More than 800 students from about 50 different countries have joined HOL within the first 24 hours. Students of any age will be able to register for HOL until mid-August.

The main goal of HOL is bringing people of any nation, culture and age together with the spirit of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter novels. Students will be able to attend a huge variety of classes with Harry Potter related subjects, where they can learn something about Alchemy, Astronomy, Medicinal Magic, Herbs, Mythology, Literature, Charms, Magical Creatures and more. Planned are also many fun events as a Quidditch tournament and various games. HOL supports reading initiatives, and especially students working in groups, as for the online house newspapers and the Quidditch team management.

If you too love the Harry Potter books and you or your company want to support the HOL project, please contact the HOL management. We are looking for programmers on a voluntary basis, who would set up an online database for HOL and also programmers for online games. If you have a community software or application that you’d want to share, or if you need a popular reference project for your software, please contact us. HOL is also open for inspired add-ons of any kind. If you or your company want to support HOL by donating some prizes for the students to win in contests etc., you are very welcome!

If you have fun working with children and you like the idea of offering a project, class or course within HOL, where you can share your knowledge or hobbies with the huge Harry Potter online community, with kids and young-at-heart adults from all over the world, please contact the HOL management.

HOL is a being developed by The Harry Potter Galleries. It’s a voluntary run, small-budget and non-profit project, so please don’t expect any payment for any service or goods.
