In confusing but exciting news, Thomas de Veen and our other anonymous fan both emailed us more interesting information that seems to CONFIRM the rumor that Richard Bremmer plays Lord Voldemort in the first movie:
I’ve searched on the net, and it seems that Mr. Joss Gower is playing Bremmer’s stunt double in the Potter movie. This news would confirm Bremmer’s co-operation in the Harry Potter movie.
We’ve found what appears to be Joss Gower’s official Web site which mentions his role, as do two other fan sites.
As I travelled across the state today, I listened to Book 1 on tape and my wife and I discussed what scene Lord Voldemort could possibly appear in the flesh in for the first movie – especially in a scene where he might need a stunt double. The book starts out with Mr. Dursley going to work and noticing McGonagall in her animagus cat form as well as all the cloaked people and owls flying overhead. Once night has fallen and Dumbledore arrives (with McGonagall resuming her human form) the story is alluded to. Later on, Hagrid tells Harry the TRUE story of his parents downfall in the hut-on-the-rock. Perhaps instead of relying on Harry’s flashbacks that only include the green flash of light and the evil, high-pitched laugh, we get to see the “battle” in it’s full form with Harry’s parents (played by Geraldine Somerville and Adrian Rawlins) shown as who they are as well as Lord Voldemort himself. Interesting.
