Some GREAT news from the Guardian Unlimited –
The Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, last night received a 10-minute standing ovation after its first screening to an audience of cinema distributors in Los Angeles. One member of the audience told The Sun: “It is better than could be expected… particularly the special effects… it follows the book almost to the letter and the sets are just incredible. Everyone got off their seats and clapped wildly for 10 minutes.” The cast will attend the official premiere in London on Sunday. The film is released in Britain on November 16.
If people who see movies on a daily basis give it a 10 MINUTE standing ovation….that’s gotta be a good sign. I wonder if this will precipitate the types of “lining up” that happened with Empire Strikes Back after people saw Star Wars. Better get your tickets for Chamber of Secrets early 😉
