Little wizard Harry Potter has spellbound millions of children and adults alike as well as catapulting a local boy into the spotlight. Xu Gang, 14, has five years experience doing voice overs for nearly 100 plays and films, but it is the character of Harry Potter that made him famous overnight.

Two bits of information from This is London, courtesy of TWW:

[At LEGOLAND Windsor] Get creative using thousands of LEGO bricks to help build a giant mural of the popular characters from the exciting world of Harry Potter. Under guidance of the Park’s team of expert model makers, children will be able to create a scene featuring Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and the infamous Professor Snape.

[At the National Portrait Gallery] A celebration of a century of children’s literature. Paintings, drawings and photographs of the British children’s authors who have made the most impact on the twentieth century including Kenneth Grahame, CS Lewis, Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl, Raymond Briggs and J.K. Rowling. Held in the Porter Gallery. Admission Free. End date has yet to be confirmed.

Also thanks to TWW for this from the Daily Telegraph:

In a departure from the star-studded first movie instalment of Harry Potter, the next episode – Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – is to make a household name of at least one hitherto unknown adult actor.

Although the film’s producer, Warner Brothers, is keen to keep his identity under wraps, Peterborough can reveal that the villainous Tom Riddle will be played by 20-something Cambridge graduate Christian Coulson.

“Yes, I can confirm that Christian has been given the part,” says his agent. “He’s massively excited about the role, but he’s really not allowed to say anything more about the film at this stage.”
