A young composer with high-tech savvy, [Jeremy] Soule's career is soaring in the video-game business, which is becoming a trendy industry for recording artists and musicians. Soule (rhymes with "goal") created the score for this year's hit "Harry Potter" games from Electronic Arts in Redwood City. ... On Thursday, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences will present its Interactive Achievement Awards at a ceremony in Las Vegas. Soule's "Harry Potter" score is among the material nominated.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the top U.S. box-office attraction of 2001 with $314.3 million and still counting, came up short when the Oscar nominations were announced -- but if the boy wizard wants to cry all the way to the bank, he has plenty of other commercially successful Oscar busts to keep him company.
