Rowling fears films will lose magic touch (from The Scotsman):

Shes’s a muggle in a muddle. Harry Potter author JK Rowling is looking for a mind-reader to take charge of the third film about her schoolboy wizard. Chris Columbus, who directed the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and is currently working on the second, has announced he will not be making any more.

His departure is a major blow to the multimillionaire author, who believed Columbus was one of the few people who shared her vision of the way the films should be made. She has told close friends she is worried a new director may not share her vision for the five films still to come.

“It’s July 2002, supposedly the month that the fifth installment of the Harry Potter series was to debut. Surely you remember Harry Potter, the boy with round glasses held together with tape who is learning the art of witchcraft and wizardry at Hogwarts School …” (from Mexican website The News).
