Or maybe not. SlowFox let us know about an article in today’s Daily Telegraph which states that UK vets report a dramatic rise last year in dogs and cats being named after characters from Tolkien and the Harry Potter films.

Films, not books.

The top ten list posted in the paper for cats and dogs doesn’t bear this out, but the anecdotal evidence is certainly telling. We at TLC know of various pairs of fighting fish named Harry and Draco, among other Potter-name-inspired pets.
