HP Conventions: Guest Speaker Announcements

Several announcements have been made in regards to guest speakers for the upcoming Harry Potter related conventions taking place next year.
Accio UK has added Steve Vander Ark and Elizabeth Kay to their speaker list. Steve Vander Ark is the founder and editor of the Harry Potter Lexicon. Elizabeth Kay is a teacher and author of childrens books, who’s latest novel “Back to The Divide” was recently published. Accio UK, the first UK conference of its kind, will be held at Reading University July 29th – 31st, 2005 in Reading, England.

The Witching Hour.org has added two authors to their speakers as well, Charles de Lint and Tamora Pierce. Charles de Lint is a fantasy author of over 50 books including “Moonlight and Vines.” Tamora Pierce is an author of several young adult fantasy books such as the “Lioness” series and her most recent book is “Trickster’s Queen.” Also added to the list of presenters is Charles Brown, founder of Locus , a science fiction and fantasy magazine. The Witching Hour is also having a “fandomopoly” contest, where you can bid for this one of a kind version of the popular board game Monopoly featuring Harry Potter websites. Finally, there will also be a Wizarding Triple Crown art contest for fans over the age of 14. The Witching Hour takes place in Salem, Massachusetts on October 6th-10th, 2005.
