Thanks to a fundraising walkathon on Honolulu, students at Waipahu Elementary School no longer have to borrow each other’s Potter books. The students at Waipahu High School raised over $1,400 for their younger counterpart’s library by strapping on their walking shoes – 50 student, forming “The League of Extraordinary Freshmen,” paired up with a fourth, fifth or sixth grader for the walk. The five who raised the most money and the five who walked the most laps got to select a book to donate to the library: two of the boys chose copies of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and one chose a copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Great taste, guys.
