Earlier this week, we told you about Newsweek Magazine’s review of Prisoner of Azkaban, which you can read on their website here. Today however, I got my copy of the magazine, and found some additional quotes not on the website. There was this from David Thewlis (Remus Lupin)
“To research his role as Hogwart’s new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, David Thewlis, one of England’s finest actors, visited some “Harry Potter” chat rooms before filming. Bad idea. “There were kids from all over the world writing things like ‘Who is he? What has he done? We wanted Jude Law!’ It was this heated debate, and all I could think was ‘Wow, they’re talking about me-and half of them don’t want me’. Thewlis, 41, laughs. ” I wanted to say, ‘Come on, surely it’s better to have someone you don’t know so he can fully inhabit the character right? Not Jude Law’ Hopefully they’ll get used to me.”

Also, there was this about actor Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) – click below (spoiler alert):
“Gary Oldman has always specialized in dark characters. He’s played Dracula. He’s played the suicidal punk rocker Sid Vicious. This work has made him a critic’s darling and a true actor’s actor. But Oldman’s role as the fugitive convicted of killing Harry’s parents has impressed an even more coveted crowd. “My profile at my kid’s school has gone way up,” he says. But will it last? Sirius doesn’t survive book five- a fate Oldman learned while shooting “Azkaban.” “I wore a black armband that day,” he says. ” I was in mourning.”
