Sotheby’s in London today will auction Harry Potter items, including two preliminary drawings by Giles Greenfield for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (lots 364, 373, and 374).
Sotheby’s site notes that the artist, whose artwork was used in the U.K. for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, was initially commissioned by Bloomsbury to provide original artwork for the dust-jacket of book five. Mr. Greenfield had to abandon his work, however, when his daughter was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a terminal genetic condition.

Other items for auction included signed editions and proof copies of the books.
