WB Responds to Reports of HBP-Related Scam

Warner Brothers has recieved reports of a scam perpetuated via email regarding auditions for Half-Blood Prince. Various HP fandomers report getting unsolicited emails that say:

Dear applicant,
Plot Outline: As Harry Potter begins his 6th year at Hogwarts School of
Witchcraft and Wizardry, he discovers an old book marked mysteriously
“TheHalf-Blood Prince” and begins to learn more about Lord Voldermort’s
dark past You have been selected to apply and participate as an”Act” in
the induction, casting and making of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood
Prince” which will be In Theaters by July 2007.
This selection is organized by writer J.K Rowling in the bid to create
original characters for the casts.
We will acknowledge your altruistic effort and appreciate your
recognition.Selection of applicants and first shots of Harry Potter and the
Half-Blood Prince will hold in three locations which includes Spain,
London and Greece.

We expect your early attendance.

The errors are from the original.

WB let us know that this is certainly not a legitimate WB casting call, and also said:

Warner Bros. confirms that these emails regarding Harry Potter 6 (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) are not legitimate. We have investigated the matter and are attempting to take legal action against those responsible.
