The Financial Times newspaper has announced their winner for the Half-Blood Prince Cub Reporter contest. Eleven year old Huw Jones of West Wales, was chosen the winner over 150 entrants vying for a chance to attend the special midnight release party for book 6 held by J.K. Rowling at Edinburgh Castle, in Scotland.
Welsh speaking Huw Jones said he learned to read in English after discovering the Philosopher’s Stone book, and “started reading six hours every day and just carried on.” The youngster wrote a review of the first Potter book, saying

“Imagine if, instead of struggling with SATs, you had to turn a match into a needle with a wand. Imagine if instead of kicking a football around you flew about on a broomstick playing a game called Quidditch which you’d never even heard of before. When I read the book I couldn’t put it down. I even tried to read it whilst walking down the stairs!”
