Nominations for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards have been announced, and Richard Griffiths (Vernon Dursley) and Frances de la Tour (Madame Maxime) have been recognized for their performances in the film version of “The History Boys.” Mr. Griffiths has been nominated as “Best actor in a leading role,” and Ms. de la Tour as “Best actress in a supporting role.” Leaky readers will probably remember that these actors have received many other nominations and awards for these roles, including Tony awards last year. The BAFTA awards will be presented at a gala ceremony on February 11.
Congratulations, Mr. Griffiths and Ms. de la Tour!
