Well well well….why do you think JK Rowling would make a gay character? that was really not necessary. To all the Christians on this site- DON’T FALL FOR IT- Homosexuality IS AN ABOMINATION OF GOD!! read this verse Harry fans: 1st Corinthians 6:9-10 That was wrong in God’s eyes, and Any book (Harry Potter included) that promotes such a thing is completely wrong 100% I’ll Pray for yall

Amen!!!!!!!!!!

As a fourth grade writing teacher, and huge, HUGE, fan of Rowling and Harry, I regret that I’m having to field questions from 9 and 10 year olds about Dumbledore’s sexual orientation. I am disappointed that this “revelation” received the media coverage that it did. And, since Harry has been directly marketed to children, I find this “outing” actually inappropriate on the part of Rowling. As a writer I truly appreciate the depth of character development that Rowling explained, but feel that this statement could have been handled differently.

I was shocked when I read this article and have re-read all books again thoroughly and have come to the conclusion that there is no way he could have been gay. JK hasnt so much as even hinted that he was in any of the books and the relationship between Grindlewald and Dumbledore was written as a lonely wizard finding a like minded and brilliant companion and is blinded to his flaws in his isolation. I am not against gay at all; I just cant see this as anything other then a way to the pink pound and a completely irrelevant factor in what are otherwise fantastic stories. Sorry JK I just cant support you on this one :(

JK Rowling- what is your problem? I am really praying for you, because obviously these books have serious issues… Oh SHURE, its GREAT for gay rights!! let the world promote AIDS – what a GREAT IDEA! while we’re at it, lets promote ABORTION and WITCHCRAFT! GOD is NOT pleased with Harry Potter. JESUS LOVES YOU!!

You know what people who write posts such as the one above really do not think about their argument. If God is truly omni-benevolent, omniscient, and omnipotent then he creates gay people in the knowledge that they will be gay therefore logically following that he has meant them to be such. Furthermore should you also refer to “judge not lest thee be judged” as further proof that god tests your own tolerance to others which is promoted in all God’s teachings. People who write such posts are not true Christians. They are bigotry and should be ashamed of themselves. This post is not strictly about Dumbledore’s sexuality but a response to some of the outrageous comments made by uneducated and foolish people who cannot truly claim to be Christian.

I am stunned :< I have read these books over and over (7 plus times). I am one of those fanatical christians but i still LOVE those books dearly. I may be thinking differently now. I really do not feel that younger children need to be exposed to any form of sexualtiy in what have always been deemed as “childrens books.” I know that there are no connotations within the books, but who won’t know now???

i was happy with everything else, except for the dumbledore-gay thing. i think it sucks, and not because i don’t like gays, not at all! it has nothing to do with that, it’s just that it totally changes my image of dumbledore, who still remains the most admirable and incredible character there, no matter how much j.k.rowling tries to make him imperfect. i just think this also changes the way people saw the relationship between harry and dumbledore, this makes it seem like a sick relationship and i just dont like it. i would have liked her to always let me think of dumbledore as that special man, who didn’t have a lot in common with the other people around him, who was just…dumbledore!!!!

wow. I almost lost it when i heard dumbledore was gay! I’m actually quite glad he is. I mean really people who like the same gender are often picked on and now there is an iconic person whom people liked in the books then they find out he gay. It just goes to show that you can admire someone even if there gender preference if differnt from yours! Way to to jo!

So romantic love is the most powerful and men can’t have a meaningful relationship with each other unless it’s romantic?! I strongly disagree with both assumptions and I believe most people would, gay or straight!! J.K. is an amazing author but she has just proven that she is human. ‘To err is human…’

Personally, I having finished the series, find that J. K. Rowling declaring dumbledore homosexual is like taking icecream and putting a portion of poop on it and mixing it around! HONESTLY I don’t have anything against gay people, but certain people in this world are not ment to be gay: DUMBLEDORE IS ONE OF THEM! Anyone who views Dumbledore as “GAY” don’t have good judgement. The Harry Potter books were good, fun, and creative—definately a book that was very talentedily written, and now it just had poop throw in iti by Rowlings exclamation that “Dumbledore is gay”. It’s like saying Abraham Lincoln didn’t care for freedom…!

This is a comment on a post (five comments above this one, by sarah, and on November 9th-please read before reading this comment). First off, you can not use scriptural passages to support your point in that way—why? Because the bible is Amphibological. When in history have we found a scriptural passage in which everyone perceive and received the same meaning? As she qouted the bible “Judge lest ye be Judged” it does not me to APPROVE OF ANY CERTAIN BEHAVIOR. What Sarah has neglected to mention is the scriptural passage “Love the sinner hate the sin”. Do we approve of murder? Do we judge murder? We love the person, NOT THERE ACTIONS!!

In response to the comment above. Well done. The bible is ambigious and that is why I disagree with people trying to use it to claim that God is against homosexuals. I was pointing out evidence to support the other side of the arguement but the fact is I could write an entire essay using bible quotes to support either opinion. As Im sure we both know therefore you cannot use the bible to legitmately back up most opinion as the bible contradicts itself throughout having been written by different people at different times and edited by a number of people. The point of my earlier post was to highlight the ignorance of most people who write extremely hurtful posts trying to make it from a religious perspective without giving any evidence to back it up. I am not gay and maintain many Christian values I just dont believe that sexual orientation should be an issue of such discrimination. Years ago divorce was just such a taboo subject and now it is considered a fact of life in some cases. Gayness should be the same- it does not hurt anyone and will not go away. To Adam Jones though. Thankyou for a reasoned arguement for once- people who have such radical views as some which I have read should think about doing the same. I salute you. :)

he is my gay lover! stop being posers!
