Several months ago actor Dan Radcliffe said he very much wanted to reprise his role in the play “Equus” for a production to be held on Broadway next year. This morning our Order partner DanRadcliffe.com has confirmed the play with Dan in the lead role is set to happen, with “Equus” due to open here in the United States September of 2008. Along with Dan, fellow Harry Potter star and Tony Award winning actor Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon) will return again in the play which was such a success in London’s West End earlier this year. The Daily Mail is also reporting today that the play will go into rehearsals in New York City starting August of 2008. No ticket information is yet available, and we will update with more on this exciting news when we can.

oh, im in NYC for a couple of months next autumn (“fall”).

At least I will feel safe in the knowledge that there will be at least 2 other Brits in the city too!

I may even go to see it if I have time, but once at the West End was enough. Will be nice for you guys in America though, hope you enjoy it ^^

Haha, I love living in NYC. (Actually, I’m in college now, but it’s only a couple of hours away from the city.) Hm, I wonder if they’ll have student rush tickets or something…

Great news! Although I probably won’t be able to go, I’m sure everyone who does will get to enjoy an incredible performance. Any information on how long the play will be in New York?

From The Daily Mail “But Radcliffe came into his own as an actor on stage, a fact acknowledged by the London Evening Standard’s drama award judging panel including him in its best actor nominees long list.”

“I like him because he decided to put being an actor first, rather than play at being a star.”

Wow, quite a complement, even from a tabloid! Congratulation Dan, I am sure you will do your best and we will enjoy it. I am Breaking my piggy bank right about now.

I am so going to this play. I wanted to go to London but it was to much money at the time. I can drive from Florida to New York, stay with my father, talk him into buying the tickets because he always brings me to a show when I go to visit. This is going to work for me. :) How long was the run of the play in London? If it starts in New York in Sept. 2008 and runs for 3-6 months that would take Dan into Maybe March of 2009. I wonder if DH is going to start filming in the spring or fall of 2009. The Daily Mail was saying DH won’t start until 2010.

Brilliant. This play was the best thing that has ever happened to Dan’s career since he landed the role of Harry Potter 7 years ago. I wish I could of seen this play earlier this year. I doubt I could go to see it in Broadway as well. Oh well. Good luck to the both of them.

Ya know, it just really bugs me when the picture posted with an article on TLC has NOTHING to do with the article itself. . . :) Not that I’m asking for one of the nekkid!Dan pics, but at least a pic of Dan and/or Richard instead of Michael Gambon??

This is fabulous news! I’m now debating if I’m going to go to London to see David Tennant in Hamlet in September or stay in the states to catch Dan and Richard…choices, choices…
