While we are still pondering over the third and final WOMBAT which now available on JKRowling.com (yes yes the third time is the charm, as the door is FINALLY OPEN, so go take that test now!) there is some additional news about Jo this morning. NBC's The Today Show announced they will be airing a three part interview with our favorite author, with the interview segments to air Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27 and on "Dateline," Sunday, July 29. The press release on this states that this interview "will explore the Harry Potter phenomenon, including Rowling's notable impact on literacy, her readers, on the publishing industry, and the inspiration she has given young writers." NBC also says this interview, scheduled to take place in Edinburgh, Scotland will be " the first time she will talk about the worldwide reaction to the final Harry Potter volume and the much anticipated and guessed-about Potter finale, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." TLC will be sure to capture this video and post as soon as we can, so stay tuned!
Also Jo will be a guest on the Friday Night with Jonathan Ross program, which will air Friday 6 July at 10.35pm on BBC One. Anyone who can capture this video interview, please send it in!

Update: As a reminder of what we told you last month, Jo will also be a guest on the Blue Peter children's show, which is running a contest to attend the taping of this program. If you have not entered yet, submissions are due by June 15. The show, which is being taped July 5, will be broadcast on July 20 on the BBC.

Thanks blanch and muttley!

LaQuesha I'm very excited about the Dateline shows! Obviously Jonathan Ross has a show in Britain, but does anyone know what type of show it is? Is it like the Today show or Oprah or Larry King?

roonwit It is a bit brave of Jo to go on Jonathan Ross, as the discussion gets a bit adult at times. But the problem with interviews just before the book launch is that Jo is probably going to be answering well asked questions or saying no comment a lot. What would be really interesting would be a fan type interview, a few weeks after the book release, when we have had time to process the new information from the books and can work out what needs clarifying and what has been left unanswered.

Lindsay i can not wait for her interview with jonathan ross ! I love his talk show as it is like no other. Yes harry potter will be discussed but, as on most occasions, the talk will go WAY of track aswell. This will most likely be the funniest interview she has ever done and i am REALLY looking forward to it. Oh and most likely young children shouldnt be allowed to watch this :P xxx

roonwit As the NBC one sounds as if it will be recorded a week or so after the release, it might be more interesting than the Jonathan Ross one, because Jo can be a lot less guarded in it, and also react to the fans reaction.

Mrs. Lovegood Does anyone know if Meredith is more of a true Harry Potter fan than Katie? I'm sort of disappointed, I was hoping someone other than NBC would get it, though after both covers were revealed on the Today Show I figured that wasn't too likely. The article on Leaky is listed on the Today Show's Harry Potter section under "News from Around the Web" -- it was the top listing! That's pretty cool!

Becca *flail* Oh I think I just nearly had a heart attack. I can't wait to see Jo on the Jonathon Ross show! ♥ Does anyone know a way to get VHS material to the internet? Because I'll definitely be recording this programme [and have a lot of other HP stuff!] on video =P

Kidas yay! JKR on Jonathan Ross. That's my fave talk show, I record it to hard disk every week. So I guess I can process it and get it to Leaky by early Sat morning (US time). Jonathan is fantastic with guests. He tries to get them off guard, sometimes by embarrassing them and very often by being extremely politically incorrect. Only the peole who take themelves a bit too seriously get put off by him. Others love him. I'm sure Jo will be just fine. And besides, he's a bit of a geek when it comes to "childrens' books" He's a huge fan of 1950's sci-fi 'B' movies as well as Dr Who and other TV series. He's interviewed Dan Radcliffe, Helena Bonham-carter and others in the last couple of months, so he must have a good idea of the books. This is going to be great !

Professor Potter Jonathan Ross highly rates the Harry Potter films. His verdict of GoF was extremely good and looks forward to taking his children to see Order of the Pheonix. He is a real motor mouth though - extrememly funny and as Kidas says, rather un-pc at times! Look forward to see how JK will react to him - but to be fair, Jonathan is also a very good judge of who he interviews. he knows when to be respectful and when he can get away with taking the mick out his guests!!
