While we are still pondering over the third and final WOMBAT which now available on JKRowling.com (yes yes the third time is the charm, as the door is FINALLY OPEN, so go take that test now!) there is some additional news about Jo this morning. NBC's The Today Show announced they will be airing a three part interview with our favorite author, with the interview segments to air Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27 and on "Dateline," Sunday, July 29. The press release on this states that this interview "will explore the Harry Potter phenomenon, including Rowling's notable impact on literacy, her readers, on the publishing industry, and the inspiration she has given young writers." NBC also says this interview, scheduled to take place in Edinburgh, Scotland will be " the first time she will talk about the worldwide reaction to the final Harry Potter volume and the much anticipated and guessed-about Potter finale, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." TLC will be sure to capture this video and post as soon as we can, so stay tuned!
Also Jo will be a guest on the Friday Night with Jonathan Ross program, which will air Friday 6 July at 10.35pm on BBC One. Anyone who can capture this video interview, please send it in!
Update: As a reminder of what we told you last month, Jo will also be a guest on the Blue Peter children's show, which is running a contest to attend the taping of this program. If you have not entered yet, submissions are due by June 15. The show, which is being taped July 5, will be broadcast on July 20 on the BBC.
Thanks blanch and muttley!

I am looking forward to this with great anticipation already! July can't come soon enough!

Thanks everyone! I just took the WOMBAT!

Jonathan Ross is a chat show but not in the normal 'we-take-ourselves-seriously' format. He's a very funny man and is good at getting humour out of people. His chat show is probably the biggest on UK TV and attracts major stars including Hollywood, sports stars etc. It is very un-pc, hence the time of night it's scheduled.

How do you get a student identification code to take the WOMBAT? Please forgive my ignorance.

schmitty, you were suppose to have gotten it the when you took the first WOMBAT test.

schmitty
you don't need student ID to take the test. they ask you if you have one from the other ones, and you just say no and continue on with the test. you get your student ID after you summit the test. keep that one for the result.

Mmmm... due to the fact that I'll be probably still too busy reading the book(s), I don't think I'll see those interviews untill very later. Good thing they'll be captured and saved here :). I'm looking forward to seeing them :)

The Jonathan Ross Show is a pre-taped interview show, in which he often flirts relentlessly with his guests. This should be very amusing. Jonathan Ross is usually a more fun interviewer, so we'll probably see a side of Jo that we haven't seen yet in interview, which will be nice. What would really rock is a Parkinson interview. That man has this weird ability to make people divulge incredible things about themselves.

Its cool the today show is doing Harry Potter trivia too! Apparently you can go to the website todayshow.com and answer questions and whatnot. Of course since my only internet access is on my blackberry I can't access the regular site to do that stuff myself! Argh! Check it out for me please?!

Did anyone else see David Yates on Blue Peter today? It wasn't very long but he seemed really nice. I only say it because I was watching Who Peter beforehand!

Whee I've just realised that I'm going to be in America on the 29th. Does anyone know the channel name/number of the station that will be showing this?

I read somewhere else that Meredith Viera on Today is supposed to interview her, but today when they had a Harry Potter segment and were going to the break I could have sworn I heard her say that she hasn't read the books when asked. If that is true, it sucks. Can anyone confirm this?

The today show is a program of NBC, the channel changes depending on where you are locally. Therefore, when in America, search for which local station broadcasts NBC and you should be set.
Also, if Meredith hasn't read the books by now, I hope she will be a good reporter and do her homework (read the books!). Not to toot Jo's horn or anything, but this interview is a big deal and I am sure that Meredith will do her best to conduct an interview that appeals to fans as well as the general public that have heard of the books but hasn't read them. If it is a 3 part series, sounds to me like some stuff will be old hat. Like Jo's background as a single mother struggling to make it and the overwhelming fan response to the series. I am betting that the only segment to really deal with book 7 and after will be the third.

Eee! I'm gradutating on the 6th of July. I'll have to just... ditch my friends for half an hour. Or bring a portable Tv. to the bar.

Hmmmm....not so sure how she'll fare on that show. Keep your fingers crossed. Danny can take care of himself...he has a very fast and fairly sharp tongue. Jo has a tendency to take offence. She's going to have to be careful.

when has jk rowling ever taken offense during an interview.? ive always thought of her as extremely witty and will more than capable of holding her own on JR

Hay guys you old said inspired young writer what about us 54 year old's or are you saying where young TOO?

Becca, i have the same probleM, only more major as I am a staffer over at Accio Quote.

*flail* Oh I think I just nearly had a heart attack. I can't wait to see Jo on the Jonathon Ross show! ♥ Does anyone know a way to get VHS material to the internet? Because I'll definitely be recording this programme [and have a lot of other HP stuff!] on video =P

onmassave- thanks for that =) I'm going to be in Kissimee, Florida... can you get NBC on all TVs? I don't know what kind of TV there'll be in the villa [i.e. whether it'll have cable or anything on it].
Jules- will you be transcripting it on your own or with help?

Ughh. I want to take forever reading the final book but I guess this means I'll have to read it fast because I read aloud to my parents after I've read it through once and I don't want the whole world to be a jerk and start publicizing whether Harry lives or dies; I DON'T WANT TO KNOW until I finish THE BOOK ITSELF. GR! lol
I can't wait to see the JKR interviews though. The Johnathon Ross one is bound to be interesting, and the NBC one is bound to irk and intrigue me at the same time. :)
