Word has come via her official website confirming the news that actress Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) will take on a new role in a television movie called “Ballet Shoes.” The film, which will be broadcast on BBC One in the UK around Christmas this year, will feature Emma in the role of “Pauline, the eldest of 3 orphaned sisters who lead a sheltered life until they begin at the Children’s Academy of Dancing and Stage Training.” This movie will co-star fellow Potter actors Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon) and Robert Hardy (Fudge), and is based upon the novel by Noel Streatfeild. Production on the film is set to begin this month.

they’re not going ot have much time to shoot this film if half blood prince starts in september. i also hear that emma is going to be dying her hair platinum blonde, which is a good thing for HP, becuase that will mean they’ll dye her hair brown for the next movie, and hopefully it won’t be dirty blonde, like it was in order of the phoenix.

Sarahak- These types of films don’t take that long to shoot. I think they’ll be done by mid-September which will probably be when HP filming starts.

Max- It, honestly, can go either way. I’m sure she’ll do fine, but like Dan and Rupert, it’s still a risk.

But you know I’m sure she will do a great job!

or they may simply let her keep her blonde hair. I wouldn’t be surprised. her hair was pretty much blonde in ootp along w/james potter anyways.

She did GREAT in Harry Potter 5 And I’m sure She will have Plenty of time for HP because She isn’t in the first couple of chapters in the Half-blood prince so they can shoot those first if she isn’t done!

Go Emma! Really cool!

That’s great. And she’s is FINALLY doing something else, thank god!

On another subject, I know the cast list hasn’t come out for Half Blood Prince, but what if Liam Neeson took the role of Scrimgeour? Just a thought.

I think I would rather see Patrick Stewart play Scrimgeour. But I have been wanting to see Patrick play a part since GoF….sigh.
