According to a posting on actress Emma Watson’s website, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been nominated at a new National Movie Award in the UK in the category of “Best Family Movie.” Emma has also been nominated for her role as Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” The website says these new awards will be shown on UK channel ITV September 29, and the winners are chosen via a nationwide poll with voting forms to be “available in every cinema outlet throughout the UK, and published in national newspapers, magazines, and online.” We are trying to obtain more information about these new awards and will update when we can. Congratulations to the whole Order of the Phoenix team!

Other congratulations are also in store for Emma Watson, who also received marks that Hermione would no doubt be very happy to obtain with all A grades in her A/S levels. Congratulations Emma!

Thanks masha!

This news is from Emma’s website after all. We don’t know yet, they might have nominated Dan and Rupert too (they better had have; Dan certainly deserves it and if Emma is then Rupert deserves to be too).

I’m going back to see OotP next week (but on Imax though) so will look and see if there’s any info around. But I can’t find any award of this name on the web- have they got the title wrong? (we would usually call them ‘film’ awards in the UK, but I can’t even find an award of that name except for one that has already happened).

Dan and Rupert have been nominated as well. I work at a cinema, and we have the forms.

The worst performance in HP is Emma Watson, according EW . Link http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20051226_5,00.html

“Ham and Cheese: Performances You Can’t Support

I hate to be critical of someone so young, but Emma Watson as Hermione in Harry Potter (pictured, with Daniel Radcliffe) tends to annoy me with all her heavy sighs and eye rolling. She was better in OOTP than any other of the HP movies, though!” —LisaMama

Congratulations for A-Levels

here it is! Dan’s nominated too against ‘two other [male] cast members’, presumably Rupert’s one of them.

The 2007 UK Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards Film Nominees Listed July 31, 2007 04:36:21 GMT by Flora Jean

Bringing out the ceremony for the first time in history, organizers of this year’s UK Nickelodeon Kid’s’ Choice Awards have neatly lined up contenders in the film categories for fans to vote from now and pick up their favorites to determine the bests.

In the top slot of Best Movie, film sequels are playing majority here as “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”, “Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End”, and “Shrek the Third” are all placed in alongside “The Simpsons Movie”, which just took its U.S. debut last Friday, July 27.

What’s more, competition between the first two features turns out to continue on acting categories, none other than Best Movie Actress and Actor for sure. While the former only sees Emma Watson of “Phoenix” battle against Keira Knightley of “Worlds End”, the latter tensely finds Watson’s co-star Daniel Radcliffe facing against two “End” cast members, Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, besides British comic Rowan Atkinson.

Full list of nominees can be seen on the awards’ official site through which fans are also encouraged to post their votes from now on up to September 30. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony held on October 20 at London’s ExCeL arena with British boyband McFly as the host.

I also think that Emma is the weakest actress among the entire cast. She was better in this one, but Rupert and Dan far surpass her.

oh hang on, that didn’t mention Rupert- I misread it…

Congrats Emma. You so deserved that nomination. Congrats on your AS levels. That’s more important anyways.
