Rumor Alert: New Director of Photography for “Half-Blood Prince”?

While casting news is scarce regarding the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, there many rumors swirling online about a new director of photography for the sixth Harry Potter film. Reports now claim that noted cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel will photograph ‘Half-Blood Prince,” which is set to begin filming in the next weeks. Bruno Delbonnel has twice been nominated for the Oscar award in Achievement in Cinematography for his work on “A Very Long Engagement,” and “Amelie,” with his most recent work seen in the upcoming distinctive looking film “Across the Universe.” If this rumor proves true, Mr. Delbonnel would be replacing acclaimed cinematographer Slawomir Idziak, who served as DOP on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
