Wow! Awesome news! First Post?

Avatar Image says:

Wow! That is so cool! I can’t wait for the trailer!! :) Thanks for posting Sue!!!

Avatar Image says:

Oh my squee!

They didn’t cut the Gaunts?

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Avatar Image says:

I can’t view the video either and I’m in England. Grr.

IF YOU CAN’T VIEW THE VIDEO, LOOK BELOW

Try downloading one of these codec packs, this should fix any problems. The standard one is all you will need.

This is direct download link Http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=4522&s=95

But for those who don’t are a little weary, here’s actual link to download page. http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm

Avatar Image says:

Good, but It is really time for some official pictures and for the teaser trailer to come out.

Avatar Image says:

ugh goshh theyve yet again changed something about hogwarts?? since when was a huge tower protruding out of the side into a courtyard :// this really gets on my nerves!! use a tower already in the hogwarts set than just all of a sudden creating one out of nowhere :/ anywayss well good :]

Avatar Image says:

I can see the video, and I’m in Italy…. ???? (it’s probably Linux powers!!!!! MWAUAHUAUAHUAGAHUAHUAH!!!!!) BTW this is awesome!!!! I could see the Gaunts’ shack, Hogwart’s yard, Hagrid’s hut, Privet Drive, possibly a part of Hogsmeade station with the train, and… what else? I think there was something that looked like a forest, and a beautiful little entrance of an ancient building surrounded by blue-screen. Did you catch anything else????

Avatar Image says:

rose the entrance to the ancient building you saw was the bridge linkining the clock tower to the hogwarts grounds.

Avatar Image says:

Simon,

You have no idea what that tower will become. For all we know they’ll cover it in orange screen and film Mrs. Norris flying on the back of a tea kettle, who knows.

Don’t just run off and start playing Tom Smykowski’s “Jump to CoNclusioNs” game. (office space for those not informed)

Avatar Image says:

I think that picture is of the Burrow. Remember how they supposedly run through tall grass during the scene? It makes sense, especially if the house supposedly catches on fire.

Avatar Image says:

I can’t view the damn video. When I click play it’s freezing. Can somebody give me a full description of the video plz.

Avatar Image says:

Awesome. Its going to be nice seeing the Burrow back. :)

Avatar Image says:

They did cut the Gaunts. It was reported by the Snitch months ago. What you see here is the base of the Burrow. I’m guessing they add the rest by computer. Compare with this image: http://www.veritaserum.com/info/places/images/burrow.jpg

If these grounds in the closed square walls are the base of the Astronomy Tower, that’s no good. I imagine it will look stupid to see Dumbledore fall in there. It should have been an open space with slopes and all the Hogwarts outside grounds. That’s my vision of this epic scene. It won’t look so epic inside these walls. It’s just way too small…

And I’d love to know what’s this sort of path with trees on both sides and what looks like gates. Maybe it’s the gates of Hogwarts that Harry will enter after being stuck on the train?? Or maybe some other part or property that he visits with Dumbledore in his memories…

Avatar Image says:

I got to c the video and i am all the way in BELIZE!!! There were some cool shots of Privet Drive and Hagrid’s Hut alsoThe Burrow. It was pretty awesome to c those while they are still in production. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!

Avatar Image says:

gutted (n) cant see the bloody video over here in england! :(

Avatar Image says:

That definately loked like the Gaunts place to me…heres hoping they didnt (cut it I mean).

Avatar Image says:

I can’t see it here in the US… then again the school computers are pretty crappy. Ughhh. I can’t wait to see this, and I wish they’d release a trailer alreadyyy!!!

Avatar Image says:

I can’t see the video. I’ll have to wait for a kind soul to put it on YouTube…

Avatar Image says:

To view it if anyone else has a problem on the left hand side of the site there is a section where you can view the UK version of the site and the International version….pick the UK version and it will work for you.

Avatar Image says:

Hmmm…what to think! I’d love to think they’ve decided to put the Gaunts and the Dursleys back in, but perhaps that’s being “optimistic to the point of foolishness,” as Dumbledore would say. Don’t know why else the Gaunts’ shack would be there if they’re not in the movie, but I imagine Harry and Dumbledore could just walk down Privet Drive without the movie showing any of Dumbledore’s visit with the Durleys (which is a crying shame, if you ask me…). Ah well, can’t wait to check out the images when I get home from work!

Avatar Image says:

This is awesome! like it. really interesting! and I agree with everbody. Its time for some new pics! and trailer! Give it to me WB!

Avatar Image says:

It looks like the base of the Burrow, especially because of that rust-colored dome building behind it in Andrew’s reference photo. I wish it was the Gaunt house though.

Avatar Image says:

If you can’t see the video, don’t worry. You aren’t missing much. The screencaps will give you the general gist. There’s no sound or anything.

Avatar Image says:

Wow this is so cool!! I am SO EXCITED!

It’s really weird to see half a Dursley house though….

About the house: I personally think it’s more likely to be The Burrow, simply because I can’t imagine the Gaunts to have a pigsty in their back garden. Oh and also because I thought they’d been cut =( I hope I’m wrong though!

Avatar Image says:

wait wait wait wait…the Dursleys aren’t in? SINCE WHEN?

Avatar Image says:

^ It was confirmed by Richard Griffith (who played Uncle Vernon) many months ago.

Avatar Image says:

Thanks for the footage! Even though they have the Privet Drive outside set, none of the Dursleys are in the cast list on IMbd. But I would dearly love to see Dumbledore “scold” the Dursleys! :-)

Could the Privet Drive set be a leftover from OotP and just saved for DH?

Avatar Image says:

WOW First time I’ve been able to access something from the BBC, here, across the pond. No sound, but you could tell what each one was! Personally, I think the chosen configuration, of the courtyard of the Astronomy Tower, is perfect. There ARE no “other towers, already shown” on the exhisting Hogwarts that would “fit the bill”...Rocks and hillsides do not fit the description of how Dumbledor is “found” by everyone… Good work, BBC! Yep…How ‘bout some new pictures, a trailer and a poster, WB????

Avatar Image says:

Awesome! I wouldn’t make any assumptions about who is or isn’t in the film. They are going to want to keep some of it a surprise (even though we’ve all read the book…). People can be told to say things or not to say things. IMDB doesn’t always have the complete cast list until the film is in theatres for that reason. I say keep optimistic! Who knows what they did or didn’t include.

Avatar Image says:

I can’t view the video, and I’m in France. It just goes on searching and searching… It’s so sad that the Gaunt house isn’t in, I thought it explained a lot of things.

Avatar Image says:

@ Cat: there are quite a few names, that have not been added, at IMBd [ I tend to follow what THEY say, before others]....sometimes,. they keep that quiet until the “last minute” Personally, I think they WILL keep the Dursleys in this one….

Avatar Image says:

I saw the video:)

Avatar Image says:

I got to see the video and I’m at U.S.A

Avatar Image says:

All right, y’all are making me feel more optimistic about seeing the Dursleys! :) I guess Richard Griffiths’ saying they weren’t in it is why I’m assuming they’re not, but perhaps they’ve changed their mind and didn’t let us know. Do you all remember the pic of Harry and Dumbledore in a living room that really looked like the Dursleys? I know everyone was saying it must be Slughorn’s house (or I should say the one he commandeered) when Harry and Dumbledore go to “persuade” him to come out of retirement, but I still say it looked VERY much like the Dursleys…. ‘Course, it may be that they’re having Dumbledore come get Harry while the Dursleys are out (which seems fairly ridiculous), but we shall see. Staying optimistic! :)

Avatar Image says:

I think what you refer to as “Privet Drive” is actually Spinners End! Privet Drive didn’t look half as shabby!

Avatar Image says:

@ Confederate—there are tonnes of towers they could’ve used for the astronomy tower: the tower they use to lock Sirius up in, the tower in the center of the right hand side of hogwarts (see pictures of durham cathedral if you dont know what i mean) the set of towers just off the transfiguration courtyard. :S

Avatar Image says:

OMG! thats so COOL! Thanks for posting!

Avatar Image says:

Does anyone know if they have finished filming? Or when they’re going to?

Avatar Image says:

What they’ve said is the Gaunts’ is actually the newly built exterior Burrow set which they’ve obviously created for the added attack scene (and maybe DD speaking to Harry outside at the beginning). As for Privet Drive being there, it’s always left standing, it was there during the GoF production and it wasn’t used in that movie.

Avatar Image says:

I’ll hold onto hope that the privet drive scene is still in there…its one of my favorites in the book.

Avatar Image says:

...not to mention it would be quite something to have Dumbledore inexplicably walking with harry to Slughorns with no explanation. We do know they apparate there.

Avatar Image says:

What’s that set with the blurry things on either side?

Avatar Image says:

Still annoyed that they cut Dumbledore’s funeral :/

Avatar Image says:

Anonym, I think I heard they wrap up shooting this month.

Avatar Image says:

We don’t know for certain if Dumbledore’s funeral has been cut. Our only source is some random poster from Snitchsneeker who said she asked Tena about it. Don’t freak out just yet.

Avatar Image says:

Its amazing how they do the films and how much works it take to build all that fake stuff, i hope everything goes well i reall really do. I cant wait for the teaser and the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUGE FAN HERE..

Avatar Image says:

When did they say that they cut the funeral??? There isn’t any other scene in the books that made me cry that much…I hope that’s not true! mollywobble…could you please give me a link or sth for that? I mean..I have no problem with all the other cuts or the things that they have added but they shouldn’t exclude the funeral…

Avatar Image says:

I hate to play captain obvious, especially after several others have pointed this out too, but I have to agree with Mollywobble’s that is not the Guant’s but the base of the burrow and the rest will be put in via cgi {or whatever the hell they are calling it these days} later and the same thing goes for the other thing that looks like it has been cut off after the first story, I think that is the North tower and it will be filled in later with cgi. I do not think they have add anything new per say, I just think you are not seeing enough to grasp what you are really looking at.

As for Pivot drive, one of the interviews they had with one of the producers made a big deal about how it was cheaper to build a mock up of Pivot drive, rather than trying to rent the place that was in the first movie for every movie, so if the Dursley’s are not going to be in this one, it is just sitting there for the next movie.

Avatar Image says:

To anyone who asked when they’re going to stop filming, they’re just about finish filming.

Seriously, what on Earth is up with WB? I’m really getting impatient with the lack of news, goddamnit. Wouldn’t we usually at least have some HQ screen caps? And the teaser trailer is still 10 days away .

I’d be happy with anything at this point. Like, say , set visits. Interviews. Anything.

Avatar Image says:

Great pictures of the set. Man i can’t wait…

Avatar Image says:

Very cool! That is so weird how they have the completely different sets right next to each other. It’s like a train set or something.

Avatar Image says:

I am surprised no one said anything about hargid’s hut being messed up like it was burnt when Snape and Draco were fleeing and fang was inside. :) Also, I think the built the astronomy tower instead of using a location so they could keep that scene more private from on lookers. Sure they could have used one of the towers used in one of the other movies but then they would be on location and then someone could a have snapped a photo of the most important scene in the movie. As for the remark some one made yesterday about the funeral being cut. Lets not all jump the gun on that made Nat was joking with this fan and the fan took here seriously. I doubt that scene would be cut could you image the hate mail WB would get. I think WB know that is one scene that could never be cut and be ok with the fans and I think JKR might want it in the movie also but that is just my thinking. :)

Avatar Image says:

You can also see the Quidditch goal the use to film both sides to the left of the courtyard bridge that leads to Hagrids hut.

Avatar Image says:

I wonder when this footage was taken. It’s possible they’ve built new sets since then.

Avatar Image says:

Natalie, this is no source for that information. That’s why i said not to freak out. The “source” was one random fan on snitchseeker. So there’s no reason to get upset or worried right now.

Avatar Image says:

Omg they had better not have cut the funeral scene.

That was one of the best parts of the book, it would be completely diabolical to cut it out! (Not freaking out mollywobble, I’m just ever-so-slightly on edge now =/)

I also hope they haven’t cut the Dursleys or Gaunts out either. I’m not so bothere about the Dursleys but the Gaunts were such a key part of the story!

Avatar Image says:

@Simon: I haven’t looked at pictures of the Cathedral, but what I have seen, of the “movie” Hogwarts they have used in the past, I cannot see one that would work. Also, they said in an interview, that they were having to build the tower. Perhaps the tower[s] that you’re discussing were not available to them for filming…? I still think that the configuration of the courtyard is more in keeping with the description in the book…Rocks and Clliffs and such [as I said earlier] are not in “keeping” with the description in the book. Let’s all take a breath [me included] and wait [although that’s a hard thing to do] Don’t ‘second guess” them….it’s gonna be GREAT!!!

Avatar Image says:

Cool pictures! The set builders and set designers on the HP films are pretty darn awesome! But I really really want to see the teaser trailer for the new movie. Hopefully it will be released sometime this weekend or next weekend.

Avatar Image says:

So what picture is that? The House of Gaunt or the Burrow? And I thought they were cutting out the House of Gaunt. It kind of looks like the Burrow ‘cause you can see were the chicken coop is. But they said it was the House of Gaunt. To bad their wasn’t any sound. But still that was ok footage. Now alls we have to do is wait for the Half-Blood Prince trailer to come out online.

Avatar Image says:

It’s the Burrow! They think it’s Gaunt’s house but I don’t agree…

Avatar Image says:

But didn’t they cut out the Gaunts? On Snitchseeker, it just says that it’s not true or something, I don`t know. ;] But the video is pretty cool. :D

Avatar Image says:

Oh yeah, duh it’s the Burrow ! :)

Avatar Image says:

It’s the Burrow.

Watch Chamber of Secrets again, and you’ll see that they have recreated it, down to the concrete pigpen and the hanger style garage. The square base of the lower level, and the rickety upstairs, it’s exactly like it was in COS.

There is next to no way this is the Guants house.

Avatar Image says:

Sort of spoils the magic really doesn’t it….....

Avatar Image says:

Agreed, Dawn. Seeing all the blue screens and tatty grass makes it all seem so, well, artificial. (what? you mean there really ISN’T a Hogwarts?)

Avatar Image says:

i saw the video everything looks great hope they dont cut the gaunts or the scene at the begining with dumbledore and the dursleys i loved that part it was a scream. does anybody know or have you heard any rumors i haven’t seen anything about that part

Avatar Image says:

WOW, was there ment to be sound though, i had no sound?? cool to see it all….....cant wait for teaser trailer need more film harry potter!!! eeeeek cant wait!!!

Avatar Image says:

jimjam – Don’t worry, the video didn’t have any sound so you weren’t missing anything!

Dawn – I kind of agree too, but I’m so desperate at the moment to see anything to do with the film that I’m not really bothered if it spoils the magic. I can’t resist the temptation!

Can’t wait for the teaser trailer.

Avatar Image says:

just because they cut the gaunts doesn’t mean they cut the gaunt house…

Avatar Image says:

I can’t for the life of me figure out what those trees with the four walls are.

Avatar Image says:

@mollywobble thanks for the answer!! @Dawn…yeah!That’s what went through my mind too..it kinda spoils the magic….. I think too that it is the burrow…I mean that’s what I thought when I saw it… As for the trees…I don’t know why but it reminds me of Aragog’s Funeral…or perhaps sth with Harry and Dumbledore?

Avatar Image says:

Why is everyone saying that the scene with the Gaunts has been cut? I don’t remember hearing that at all!

Avatar Image says:

“As for the trees…I don’t know why but it reminds me of Aragog’s Funeral…or perhaps sth with Harry and Dumbledore?”

Posted by Natalie on May 06, 2008 @ 07:27 PM

Could be. I was thinking maybe the attack scene at the Burrow, but that specifically talked about “reeds”, and I don’t see any reeds, just trees. You would think it is a fairly pivotal scene though, for them to build a set for it like that. I keep racking my brains going through HBP, but I can’t really think of any scenes that would be forested like that, except maybe like you said Aragog’s funeral.

Avatar Image says:

I love it but I am sad because I thought it was the gaunts house but I compared it to the picture of the burrow I Chamber movie and it defiantly is. But the rest is cooooooooooool :) ya.

Avatar Image says:

I dunno … it kind of blows off the fairy dust and takes away the magic for me.

Avatar Image says:

Well i think the set with the trees is where the ministry wizard sees the the signs of little hangleton and greater hangleton and start walking toward the gaunts

Avatar Image says:

what is this about the Burrow being under attack and set on fire? I can understand for DH, but HBP Scrimgeour would never authorize that type of activity, well on the Weasley’s at least. I thought Harry was suppose to have special protection in HBP from the ministry…I mean I know they don’t go by the book, but adding a fire scene?

I agree with Confederate Lady I think there are surprises that they are holding for us…they can’t tell us/confirm everything we ask.

Also, I agree this looks like the Burrow and I think it’s too early to tell if the courtyard would be used as the astronomy tower…it’s been featured in a lot of the movies, but who knows…it could merely be a passing of students shot or familiar birds-eye view of Hogwarts. Also, they tear down and re-build a lot, so it’s optimistic to think Privet drive might still be included. I’m so excited though…this will be great!!

Avatar Image says:

That new courtyard looks SO stupid and ugly. If there’s going to be a big fat tower indenting halfway into it, then the least they could have done is make the coutyard twice as bigger. There’s no such thing as having a courtyard with a round tower taking up one third of its space. No architect would have done that. That just looks silly.

Avatar Image says:

AHH!!! That’s so exciting!! I see the Burrow! and Privit Drive! and Hagrids! but what is the forest/tree part? Does anyone know? Anyway it looks awesome!! can’t wait for trailor!

Avatar Image says:

Man, that looks just amazing!! Is that Hagrid’s patch, in front of a whole lot of blue screens???

A friend of mine, who works for local telly, had to go to london on a day’s notice to interview cast/crew and visit the sets, because her colleague was sick.

I’m so gonna kill her for not bribing her boss into taking me with her!!! Look at those sets!! I love it. That’s Hollywood for ya-

Avatar Image says:

“Agreed, Dawn. Seeing all the blue screens and tatty grass makes it all seem so, well, artificial. (what? you mean there really ISN’T a Hogwarts?)

Posted by jensenly on May 06, 2008 @ 06:05 PM”

I personally think this makes it all even more magical! It’s a world that’s momentarily out there, but afterwards you can never revisit. It’s the magic of movie making! You walk to a set, and you first see the back of it all, or the blue screens or whatever, and you see how they do all their ‘tricks’, which is always fun to find out. Then you step onto the real set and you suddenly find yourself inside the world of Harry Potter! It’s like reading a book- when you get hold of it, you know it’s not real, you see it’s ‘just’ a story. But then you open it and you get into the story, and you love every minute of it and it feels incredibly real. Then you close the book, and it’s gone…

Or sort of anyways. That’s how I see it. I’d LOVE to visit those sets! It’s the closest one could get!

Avatar Image says:

(well, ok, soon the closest one can get to the hp world will be the theme park, but you get my drift…)

Avatar Image says:

Maybe the trees within the four walls are needed for when Harry hears Snape and Dumbledore argue, and understands it all wrongly?

Avatar Image says:

Its definitely not the Gaunt shack. I’m absolutely sure of it. Just compare the structure with the Burrow from CoS

look: Set picture: http://www.portkey.it/images/reportageddsds/tanans.jpg

Burrow: http://www.portkey.it/images/reportageddsds/6.jpg

It still has that weird garage-tunnel thing.

Avatar Image says:

is it supposed to be soundless?

Avatar Image says:

“It still has that weird garage-tunnel thing.

Posted by Slither on May 07, 2008 @ 08:31 AM “

It is weird that the garage-tunnel thing is now on the wrong side of the burrow. Or one of the pictures (either the picture of the film or the film of the set) is mirrored?

Avatar Image says:

“Maybe the trees within the four walls are needed for when Harry hears Snape and Dumbledore argue, and understands it all wrongly?

Posted by emmy on May 07, 2008 @ 06:56 AM “

Yeah, you could be right. Or maybe it’s supposed to be the entryway to Hogwarts when they first arrive on the train. If I remember correctly, that had rows of trees similar to that set. You know the passageway that the Thestrals pull the carriages through. Except in this case, it would be Tonks/Neville/Ginny/Snape walking with Harry from the train with his broken nose.

Avatar Image says:

Guys, here is definitive evidence that the funeral scene is IN That’s a quote from Davide Yates in an old interview: “Steve has taken the funeral from the book and written a beautiful scene in a very poignant, plaintive and special way.” There you go.

Avatar Image says:

“It is weird that the garage-tunnel thing is now on the wrong side of the burrow. Or one of the pictures (either the picture of the film or the film of the set) is mirrored?”

No, you’re looking at the back side of The Burrow in the new pic. Look at the both more closely.

Avatar Image says:

Thanks, Andrew! That definitely helps to know that Kloves wrote the funeral scene and that Yates likes it, but I suppose it’s still in the realm of possibilities they decided they couldn’t leave it in the final version. I hope Nat didn’t have her facts right when she said it wasn’t in.

Avatar Image says:

omg!! this is brilliant cant wait to see the film it makes me even more exited :):):):):):)):):):)):):):):):) i don’t know whats the matta with the video in england but i can see it perfectly in WALES, i am still hoping that they didn’t cut the Gaunt scenes coz they are 1 of the many highlights of the story for me. well wont be long i’m counting down the days 21st November :):):):):):):)):):):):):)

Avatar Image says:

i loved your sight

Avatar Image says:

AHH! Wha- but AHH! they’re changing it AGAIN!? I’d wish they’d keep something classic! I mean the first two were the best so far! That is undiniable fact! well maybe the goblet of fire but definitly not the Order of the phoenix (it was too short) and absoloutly they will not tie with the 2… (emphasis on 2) 2 “deathly hallows” films! I’m still mad they decided to make 2 films! I mean really, 2?! Alright, has anyone ever seen Gone with the Wind? Hey that was REALLY long. But did that stop it from being a best hit? I get that it’s to add almost the basic stuff (which i must admit, pratically is the entire plot) but come on! 2 separate dates? possibly 2 seprate VIDEO GAMES And the names! Harry potter and the deathly hallows PART 1! I’m sorry has this now become Star Wars without me realising? Well there’s definitly alot of love! And Hatrid! And there’s… do I need to continue?! Alright, here’s what: make it one big film, if not make it come out on the same date! Yeesh! And if there’s someone I know on this website the… HARRY POTTER PUPPET PALS!!

Avatar Image says:

I thought they cut the Gaunts (incredibly annoyingly!!). If they are back I’ll be pleased, otherwise…meh. :|

Avatar Image says:

that is definitely not the Gaunts house. its clearly the burrow, you see the garage where they park their car and the little entrance thats like a foot high cement surrounding. go look at pictures of the burrow and stop being so stupid.

Avatar Image says:

Well, I saw it just fine in the US. Such blurry photography though, like the lens needed cleaning…

Avatar Image says:

Stuart Craig is awesome.
