As the publication of The Tales of Beedle the Bard by Harry Potter author J. K.
Rowling nears, Amazon France has launched a contest for French residents to
win a signed Collector’s Edition of the book. To enter, residents must correctly answer five Harry Potter related questions in order to win one of ten signed Collector’s Editions of The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Winners of the contest will be announced on December 18th. As TLC readers will remember, a slew of Beedle the Bard contests have opened up in previous weeks for those in he US, UK residents, and a contest open to all from Germany.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J. K. Rowling will be published on December 4th, with all proceeds benefiting Children’s High Level Group charity.

Thanks to Pruneau.

Avatar Image says: woop woop first commentAvatar Image says: second with no comment!Avatar Image says: ha i just entered the competition, it took me like half an hour and if i win they will probably refuse to send it to me lol =)Avatar Image says: YES! for once the contest is one I can suscribe to!!!! Avatar Image says: Why report a contest that only works in France? That's not news in America.Avatar Image says: @ Wilson: Don't you think that people from other countries than the US read TLC? There are lots of nationalities that read TLC. I'm for example Dutch. The Dutch Harry Potter sites aren't as complete as TLC is, I think.Avatar Image says: exactly....for example i'm from Romania and i wanted several times to enter your competitions , but i couldn't:(:(...so why do you organise contests only for US and UK ? there are also HP fans in other countries than yours...perhaps other people with different nationalities would like also to enter these competitions ...don't you think ?...Avatar Image says: please would you be so kind and answer me these questions because i'm curious ...?...i think that all HP fans from all over the world have the right to enter this tipe of competitions , even though they are not so talented at writing...Avatar Image says: Cool. But, yeah, it'd be nice to have contests in more countries (hopefully one day, but we probably shouldn't get our hopes up; I'm not sure how Amazon decides what countries get contests). I'm still holding on for Canada.Avatar Image says: I'm happy for residence of France, but I'm sick of not having a competition open for all. I hope the competition from Amazon Germany is open for all, but I fear it isn't. American, UK, French and German people are all getting a chance to win a signed copy, but what about the rest of us?Avatar Image says: I'm in Australia and there are never any contests like that here. All the good merchandise can only be bought in the US or the UK and the shipping costs a fortune. Now the exchange rate has gone through the floor, my preordered copy of Beedle the Bard is going to end up costing a lot more than it was when I ordered it! Whinge whinge.Avatar Image says: thts not rly fair..the french can win a contest 2 get it 4 free and the americans can only get it 1/2 price. besides 4 tht, its not fair 4 the ppl. tht dont live in ne of those places. i think tht e/t should be open to neone.Avatar Image says: i'm from Romania too and i think that it's not fair at all...i wanted to enter the competitions and i couldn't because they were only for the US , UK or Canada . I think that it's a descrimination for the other fans...so , could tou please organise at least one contest for all of us , millions of hp fans? :D...Avatar Image says: i'm from Romania , too ...and i wanted to enter some competitions , but i couldn't because they were opened only for US , UK or Canada ...I't not fair at all , i think it's a descrimation for the other countries...so could you please organise at least one contest for all hp fans all over the world , millions of fans ?Avatar Image says: i'm from Romania , too ...and i wanted to enter some competitions , but i couldn't because they were opened only for US , UK or Canada ...I't not fair at all , i think it's a descrimation for the other countries...so could you please organise at least one contest for all hp fans all over the world , millions of fans ?Avatar Image says: Wilson, the Potter Universe is global, we fans from outside the US surely have a stake in the Leaky site? With the exception of JK Rowling's own site, this is the only HP site I visit as its always been a) the most reliable b) the fastest with the news and funAvatar Image says: It would be justice to give more nationalities a chance. Like taking all signed copies and dividing it into diferent regions. One part could be US and Canada, other Latinamerica, other whole Europe, other Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. They could give ten books per region, so all the Potterfans would be happy and not feel excluded. What Amazon is doing now is a kind of separation. I understand that they are a commercial company. But it makes no sense, as they are gaining a lot of money anyway and people feeling more justice and less bitterness of beeing excluded will be more interested in buying their products.Avatar Image says: I totally agree with you, Eva Hedwig. For example, I'm from Italy, and I've never seen a contest for italians. There are many fans here, waiting for the occasion to win their dream's book!Avatar Image says: I totally agree with you, Eva Hedwig. My Collector's Edition of Beedle the Bard just shipped from Amazon CanadaAvatar Image says: Braille Beedle the Bards are available for order in both US and UK. Googling for braille beedle the bard will get you links to order each issue (via the National Braille Press bookstore or the RNIB shop), both are scheduled for 4th December release. Pre-ordered UK Beedles seem to have gone into the "dispatching soon" state.Avatar Image says: Thx Roonwit!Avatar Image says: I AM LA DY BE FOR THE KUE LATER I AM NOT PUPIL FOLLOW DITHAvatar Image says: Wilson, there are peaple fron france that read TCL.
