Earlier we told you actor Rupert Grint was to appear on the Al Murray’s Happy Hour show tonight. That program has now aired in the UK, and thanks to our Order partner RupertGrint.net video of the interview is now online. In this funny interview, Rupert discusses his role as Ron Weasley and mentions he is playing Quidditch in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, as well as briefly mentions the two part movies for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Rupert also says he has read all the Harry Potter books, with other topics ranging from the audition process he used to get cast in the Harry Potter series, to his ice cream truck. Expelliarmus for a mouse?! I have visions of a tiny rodent on hindlegs and its miniscule wand whizzing off out of its hands and rolling under the refridgerator! LOL!
that was a loltrip though i’d appreciate it more without the heavy accent.
i wish that audition tape was leaked, wanna see it! Xpppppp
oh and in the future i wanna see if he’s really a ginger.
his demeanor during interviews is rather similar to johnny depp’s (might be just me).
hearts for grint! <3 <3
“I do wish he didn’t mumble so much or maybe thats just something I notice.”
So he’s still mumbling? But give him time. it’s good that Rupert’s doing interviews on his own. If he goes with Dan and Emma, he doesn’t even mumble. He just lets the two take all the limelight…
I’m sorry but Rupert is so nice but dim. Again he didnt express an opinion! And Murray is not funny and did all the talking. Pointless. Alex James was on before Rupert and was much better, he was even better while sitting with Rup.
performingmonkey , yet again, a Rupert fan putting Dan & Emma down, can’t you lot help yourselves.
Dan’s not trying be an ‘proper actooor’ type, he’s always loved theatre and wants to improve and become a good actor, stop insinuating that he’s a snob, he just likes adult, intelligent, thoughtful writing and he should be congratulated on trying to improve himself while he’s got the chance, not put down because he’s not as good as Rupert. (Although I’ve not seen Rupert in anything as challenging & emotional as Equus. 4 months, 8 performances a week, could he do that?). Theatre is a lot harder than film you know.
Rupert’s a really nice guy but he’s just not able to talk, what’s the matter with him. Surely the shyness after all this time should be getting better, not worse?
Come on Rupert, you’re a good actor, and you know it, you should have some confidence for gods sake or maybe he knows people like the shy guy?
@Julie I dont think anyone was putting Dan or Emma down particually but if they were you are no better yourself ‘I’ve not seen Rupert in anything as challenging & emotional as Equus’. And implying that Rupe deliberatly acts shy, wow, hypocracy and cynicism. Way to lower the tone.
I agree with julie that some comments implied Dan was a snob for being an ‘actoor’. And Rupert himself said he couldnt have done it. I think Rup is an ok actor but havent seen him challenged yet so dont know if he is capable of more. We have to judge people on what we of them and not speculate. I do wish he had talked more instead of just chuckled on the show.
People who aren’t ‘shy’ by nature just do not understand the difference between being slightly shy in certain situations and being shy full stop. As a naturally shy person myself I can tell you shyness is not something you ‘get used to’ or ‘grow out of’. Yes you can develop strategies to cope with certain situations but that doesn’t help you with everything, especially social situations.
Also did you know that being amongst very confident people a lot can make a shy person disappear further into their shell? This was actually demonstrated to me by a role play exercise on a public speaking course (the teacher was an actor). He also demonstrated how being with a shy person will make a confident person overcompensate by becoming hyper. So now we can all understand how Rupert, Dan and Emma are when they’re together. The other two compensate for Rupert and vice versa!
For everyone who’s asked. YES, Rupert IS a natural ginger. He has the pale complexion, the blonde-red lashes and eyebrows… and what’s more telling, I’ve seen a pic online of Rupert when he was about 3 yrs. old and he was ginger in it. I doubt Mom and Dad Grint would dye their son’s hair for a role in a movie of a book that hadn’t even been written then.
The Patronus turned... It was a stag. It was shining brightly as the moon above... it was coming back to him... It stopped on the bank. Its hooves made no mark on the soft ground as it stared at Harry with its large, silver eyes. Slowly, it bowed its antl
And I wanna see his Weasley Wand!
