According to United Agents, a literary and talent agency in the UK, actress Suzanne Toase has been cast in the part of Alecto Carrow for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The website indicates she is currently filming her scenes as one of the Carrows, the brother and sister Death Eaters who take part in the dramatic events at Hogwarts which occur at the end of the book.

On a related note, on this same website, there is a new photo of actress Jessie Cave, who portrays Lavender Brown in “Half-Blood Prince.”

Suzanne seems perfect. I’m not so sure about Jessie for Lavender. She seems to be a little too pretty, in my mind.

Suzanne Toase will fit my image of Alecto Carrow. It’s a close match to what’s in my head. But now I want to know who has been cast as the brother!! But any good movie news excites me!! = ]

Wasn’t Lavendar Brown black in the books? Maybe I’m confused.

I guess I can see her as Alecto. Lavender was never actually described in the books. Her role in the film has always been just a background character so far and has had a black girl in the role before. Just like with POA, they had cast a girl for Parvati and when they went to Hogsmead there were a second East Indian girl with her, who was presumably Padma, but I don’t recall her being credited as such. Then they recasted both for GOF. They don’t seem to think things all the way through for casting unless the character is going to have more than a throw away appearence or line. Except for casting all the Gryffindor boys in Harry’s year.

So thats both Carrow’s cast. Isn’t Finnchy from the Office not Amycus? I believe Lavendars colour wasn’t said in the books.

Hasn’t Ralph Ineson been cast as Amycus? Thought I read that somewhere.

What I don’t get is that Amycus’ dirivative of his name, or ‘amicus’ means friend. Perhaps it was a coinscidence. Another thing I noticed in Jo’s naming is that many of the Harry Potter character’s name derive from the Greek Myths, take for instance Draco’s son, Scorpius Hyperion: both of the names have extreme Greek Mythological meaning.

Actually she looks a bit like how I imagined Umbridge, only younger, no? Maybe that’s just me. But I can see if she’s made down (as opposed to made up) how she can fit Alecto.

Jessie is so pretty :D I can’t wait to see her as Lavender.

Prenz

WOw! Jessie is really pretty! She’ll be a good Lavendar, though I hadn’t imagined her as pretty, but then, she is someone who’s quite into her looks, so I guess Jessie’ll be perfect!

Carrow is great too! Good casting here! :-D

Yeah, she tottaly looks like a younger version of Umbridge!

She looks perfect! Suzanne Toase…name rings a bell for something…

I always imagined Lavendar as a pretty girl – I imagined her blond too, so this actress really fits my image. That’s why Ron spends so much time “snogging” her without really having deeper feelings – it’s all about physical attraction. I think that’s why Hermione is so absolutely angry and jealous too.

yeiii!! i love that a lot of details are being included in HBP because that only means that DH will have a lot of characters that I didn’t think that would be in the movie…

Alecto is perfect… she has the perfect b”!#ch face hahahaha…. and i thought about Umbridge too!!

Suzanne Toase as Alecto Carrow is perfect, in my opinion… And she really does look like a younger version of Doloris Jane Umbridge!... Jessie Cave looks good too, I didn’t picture her in my mind THAT pretty… But “Prenz” has a point: Lavender Brown IS into looks, so, I think she’ll be great! Claire: about Lavender Brown being Black. Doesn’t J.K. Rowling say if there Black?... For instance: ‘And now there were only three people left to be sorted. “Thomas, Dean,” a Black boy even taller than Ron, joined Harry at the Gryffindor table.’ Perhaps I am wrong?

they both look about like what i figured for the roles they willplay, would have liked to see color photos though, and i agree lavender “lav lav” brown should be rather pretty as she seems to be protrayed that way in the books
