Thanks to our Order partner DanRadcliffe.com, we can see this new article from the June 2008 issue of Film Review, where actor Dan Radcliffe briefly discusses both the “Deathly Hallows” and “Half-Blood Prince” films. Of the upcoming sixth Harry Potter film, Dan notes:
“Harry is unhappy for a lot of this film, mainly because people keep trying to kill him. And his love life is awful, too. That’s what Jo [Rowling] does so well, combining everyday mundane problems with this incredible other world.”
Great, i think Dan and Co. are finishing filming soon, so hopefully we’ll have more news and pics from hbp. And hopefully a trailer, i want to see what the young Tom Riddle (age 11 and 16) look like.
Dan makes a very good point—it is going to be very strange, and probably upsetting to the kids not to have the cast and crew and their friends of a near life-time to come back to. This is almost all they have ever known since early childhood. Yes, I can see that being a real emotional tug after all those years.
“Harry is unhappy for a lot of this film, mainly because people keep trying to kill him. And his love life is awful, too.” LOL! That was good! Completely agree about what he said in regards to Jo’s writing! I think that’s what makes the Potter books this successful, because despite all the magic and “this is just a fantasy” world, she makes it so amazingly real, that, well, it seems to be just that! Ya, I know, “What do you, it’s NOT?!” ;-)
But this article made me feel a bit sad too. It’s going to end, so soon now that you think of it. These ten years have passed so fast, what’s another three years or so? And once it’s all over, really and truly, then it’s just going to be so weird. The actors are definitely going to feel strange not coming back to shoot more Potter, but it’s going to be strange and sad for the fans too, of course! Gosh, I’d better stop thinking about it, or I’ll just depress myself…
Well it was rumored a while back that there might be a trailer before CoN: Prince Caspain yet, nothing is confirmed. That was a while back so we’ll know May 16.
I absolutley cannot wait for HBP!!! I think it is one of the best HP books, and I hope the film doesn’t ruin it like they did OOTP. I hope there’s a trailor soon. But besides all the excitement, I’m dreading the end of the HP movies, I think that will finally convince me that it’s over. I cried the entire last part of DH because I couldn’t believe that the sieres was over!
Harry looked upward and saw a velvety black ceiling dotted with stars. He heard Hermione whisper, "It's bewitched to look like the sky outside. I read about it in Hogwarts, A History."
Yay!! more hbp news!!
