Hold on everyone! The batch of high res photos from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as seen earlier today in the USA Today newspaper are now here. We also have two more new photos to tell you about released via MSN Mexico, one showing a new photo of Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) in full Quidditch gear,and this one of a deep in thought Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton).
Wow – I cannot believe the onslaught of pictures today ! Beautiful ! And I must take time to agree and clarify a few things if my memory serves…
1. Yes, I do agree that we are seeing a picture of Quidditch tryouts. The team is not that large and they are not spectators either.
2. They did not seem to capture the Horace Slughorn as JKR wrote his description, (enormously fat, walrus moustache, bald.) However, it would take a large ” fatsuit ” to make one ” enormously fat ”, a balding cap unless Mr. Broadbent was nice enough to shave his entire head, and fake moustaches look…fake. I think that even if ” the look ” isn’t quite up to par, it will take the skill and experience that Mr. Broadbent has to capture the persona of Horace Slughorn, and for that, we will have to wait. I do not doubt his ability.
3. Yes, Harry is holding the Elder Wand. And yes, it MUST be introduced to film audiences for its importance to be signficant enough for DH. I am sure they will have Harry place the wand with Dumbledore at the funeral. Remember, he has a conversation with McGonagall in DD’s office prior to the funeral. That is the photo we see.
4. I am quite quite sure they have left in Harry and Ginny’s ” big blazing kiss ”. They are just trying to ramp up the tension between the two with an ” almost kiss ” at Christmastime. I am sure we’ll see Ron glaring in the background somewhere in the film. I’ll just miss Mrs. Weasley turning up ” A Hot Cauldron full of Love ” just to annoy Fleur. ! LOL !
5. I love the photo of Draco. I would almost bet it is where he is watching everyone go to Sluggy’s party….
6. Did no one notice how much better Dumbledore looks????? His beard is longer, his hair is whiter and longer and straighter ! He looks great !! Let’s hope HIS acting is up to par this time around !
Marjory, the picture you linked to looks like an “Order of the Phoenix” screen shot during the scene where Harry sees his father bullying Snape in Snape’s memory. It looks like the same clothes he was wearing, and the same expression on his face from that movie. I also believe the scene took place near the lake. Thanks for sharing, though! :)
Well it’s nice to see the pics. They were awesome. Especially the Bonnie, Rupert, and Tom ones. But was it me, or did anyone notice that NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM WAS IN N.E.W.T POTIONS????

With the number system on the uniforms, does anyone else think they are moving quidditch tryouts to this movie instead of OotP. There are other number 2’s. Could the number 2’s all be trying for the keeper position.

anyways, I was wondering the same thing about the #’s like FreeElf I agree all the numbers are probably the groups that are trying out for the same positon or they are trying out for different positions theyve just been grouped together, I dunno though..
