The September issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK magazine contains a feature on actress Emma Watson (Hermione Granger). As noted on her official website, the article focuses on some of Emma’s favorite styles and clothes, including some of her outfits from the legendary couture House of Chanel. You can see the scans from the magazine via this link. The issue of the magazine is now on sale in the UK (and in some newsstands here in the US).

Wow, Emma is so fashionable. I love her style. Its hot but still age appropriate. I love that she doesnt go on red carpets wearing skimpy dresses. Shes amazing. Great role-model

love her style, fashion and makeup.always so nice and classy!am glad she’s appearing on such a famous mag too!so very stylish yet appropriate.

So i’m the only one that thinks Emma is often quite hit and miss with her style? Sometimes she picks entirely the wrong shades (like at the Empire awards) or the wrong shoes/accessories. And her posture often doesnt help carry off the outfit.

I like it but the site takes forever and a day to load! Please, Emma, get a faster server and more tech-savvy design. Int his day and age there’s no need for such slow load times.

Although I haven’t liked all her fashion choices, she does tend to look more classy than most stars. Go Emma!

Avatar Image says:

I love her style :) it’s so unique but still classy and in style but more grown up that the typical teenage star.

Iolathe, her site doesn’t take long to load w/ my computer. It did the first few times I got it but it doesn’t anymore…Lightmaker sites tend to do that though b/c of all the interactive features. That’s too bad. :( sorry!

Miriam, you are not alone.

I think her outfits are becoming more and more posh every year. And ever since she did Ballet Shoes, her make-up hides more of her beauty than underline it. She’s lost some of her appeal to me, because she is definitely no longer the “normal girl” she always says she is.

Coco——it’s called growing up.

Avatar Image says:

haha weston on coco ! it made me laugh yes she is growing up and i think her beauty shines both inside and out! shes gorgeous and such a good person! definately one of my idols! love her :) thanks for everything Emma! god bless :)!

Avatar Image says:

I have to agree with Coco on makeup. Some little girls seem to get and never grow out of the idea that when they grow up they need to wear globs of makepup. But that makes a pretty girl like Emma look cheap. But luckily she doesn’t seem as heavy handed with the makeup as she could be, so usually she looks nice. But I do hope that the fact that the world is focusing on her appearance (ie her hair, her clothes etc) doesn’t go to her head like it does to so many girls. Good luck to her to keep her head on straight!

Wish I could afford dresses like those, lol. Congrats on getting straight A’s in your A-levels too, Emma!

Avatar Image says:

Yeah also heard about the Hermione style A level results. Well done, Emme

Avatar Image says:

I just heard about Emma’s A-levels too. Hermione would be VERY PROUD. CONGRATULATIONS Emma!

@Weston, I have only one thing to say about your comment – AMEN!!!!!

“So i’m the only one that thinks Emma is often quite hit and miss with her style? Sometimes she picks entirely the wrong shades (like at the Empire awards) or the wrong shoes/accessories. And her posture often doesnt help carry off the outfit.”

I agree, but she’s still quite young and she’s getting there.

Emma does not look cheap! Her make-up is usually flawless, I don’t see anything wrong with it.

And wow, gongrats for her excellent A-level results! Though it wasn’t really a surprise, lol.

Am I the only person who would like to see Emma do an interview where she never mentions fashion once? Why the fixation on such trivial (yes, fun) things?

I’d like to see her do something other than try on an outfit and preen for the camera. Perfect her acting, study at school….anything apart from fashion. Just once.

Avatar Image says:

bebe, I guess this means you’ve listened to every one of Emma’s interviews and have never heard her not talk about fashion. Oh honestly! I’d also guess you’ve never read Harper’s Bazaar. Fashion is what they do. For goodness sakes lighten up!

Avatar Image says:

Yay Emma! I can’t wait to pick this up. Unfortunately it will probably be October before any of the stores in my area that carry international magazines will have the September issue in stock. They are always about a month behind on even UK mags, its so annoying, I’m even still waiting for the August issue of Empire. I can’t wait to see what Emma wears while promoting HBP. I mean Alberta Ferretti dressed her for GOF’s promo tour and Chanel dress her last year for OOTP’s tour. Something tells me she will probably be wearing Chanel again, which works well on her. Congrats on your a-levels Emma!

Avatar Image says:

Good answer, ohlightenup. I agree. Emma is an extraordinarily beautiful girl, and it makes sense for her to be interested in fashion. She makes darn good money at it. She’s only going to be young once. And as for schoolwork, what more could you ask for! She just aced all her A-levels, and is headed for Cambridge, apparently. It doesn’t get much more high performance than that! It’s important to keep up to date on this amazing girl’s life and accomplishments. Flip comments just don’t cut it anymore…..not at this stage of the game. She’s a force of nature!

Avatar Image says:

@bebe, I try to ignore comments like yours, but sometimes I just can’t stop myself. Maybe I’m just too bored at work today.

Emma has always gotten straight A’s on her school exams, starting with her GCSE’s and now her A-levels. She has said she will go on to study at the university level. The rumor is she is going to Cambridge, no less. Now that really doesn’t sound to me like someone who is consumed with fashion. Maybe you are thinking of Paris Hilton.

Avatar Image says:

I like her in every dressed. i like her face cut so much. she is looking very sexy in every kind of dress. I just want to say Best of luck sweaty Remember me Thank U

Avatar Image says:

Oh, ouch. I’m well aware of Harper’s Bazaar is and what it sells. I’m equally aware that she aced her A levels. I’m just saying, wouldn’t it be nice if her publicist and her found a place for her to talk about something meatier rather than being a walking advertisement for a fashion designer.

Fashion is trivial – fun, yes, but ultimately trivial and objectifying. To me, it would be nice to see a young woman in the entertainment industry flout something else besides her taste in expensive clothes.

I don’t just blame her though. The entertainment industry is so sexist it can’t image a female being able to speak about something other than her handbag or one of her male co-stars. I feel for her – I do. She could, however, use her powers for other things.

p.s. I have read other of her interviews. Once in a while I see someone quite intelligent peek out in between the pics of her looking fabulous. Other times I wonder how she got her A-levels. Bottom line: I’ve seen people on this site go absolutely evil on her because of how she’s dressed. Let’s hope she gets an interview one year where she can show that she’s smart and not all about the clothes.
