i’m not excited about her performance in HBP. though if you put Jason and Helen together they do look like they could have birthed Tom Felton…so that’s good.

Happy Birthday Helen McCroy

I would have LOVED to see your performance this november, but as you know WB love us so much that they decided to push it to july 2009.

Since then, I wont see your spectacular perfomance till a YEAR.

HONESTLY just wish her a happy birthday and not talk about HBP!! get over it!! its changed and you cant do anything but whine!

Happy birthday to you happy birthday to you happy biirthday day dear helen happy birthday to you

I don’t know about YOU Erika, but I’m going to whinge my arse off until WB FEELS our disappointment. Maybe then they’ll really think about the fans.

Avatar Image says:

I agree with you Erika. Happy Happy Birthday Helen. You are a very beautiful lady. I cant wait to see you as Narcissa no matter if they made you resemble your sister or not. Hopefully they reconsider in the next 11mos. I agree that if her and Jason- you know- they could have birthed Tom. We wont get to see the three of them together until Deathly Hallows. Oh I have been dying to see Lucius with his wife. She is so lucky – Jason is a hucky hottie. They make one steamy onscreen couple. Anyhoo- WB get on the ball and change her hair back to what we saw before in the leaked photo!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

but tell them to change your ugly hair color on the movie!

Avatar Image says:

well that’s nice for her. except we don’t get to see it for like 11 months! and i really don’t like that hair. like what the hell.

Avatar Image says:

Happy birthday! cant wait 2 see u in HBP!! (which we dont get 2 see 4 another year I H8 U WARNER BROTHERS!!!)

Can’t leaky just make a thing on the side of the page for actor birthdays, this really isn’t news after all.

Hey, Rupesgurl (and everyone else who keeps going on about her hair): Hers is not the only hairstyle/colour to change! In the books, Dudley’s hair is blonde, Fleur’s hair is a sheet of silvery blonde hair (not a rather normal, mousey blonde as it is in GoF), Hermione’s hair is super-bushy, and so on. I too rather wish that they would stay faithful to the books in matters of physical detail, at least where that can be maintained (i.e., not in the case of the Weasley twins, who in the book are short and stocky, totally the opposite of the Phelps twins, who I think play them wonderfully!).

However, I’m not so hung up on it that I can’t wish an actor a “Happy Birthday” without criticising their hair! It is not Helen McCrory’s fault that HBP has been (very disappointingly) rescheduled, which is what is really upsetting everyone; nor is it a particularly big deal that Narcissa’s hair has, like so many other characters’ appearances, been changed in some way. So instead of using every single post to moan about the appalling WB decision, how about we lay off when wishing someone well for their birthday? Poor lady, to have a birthday fall so soon after WB’s announcement. I do think that a bit of good grace goes a long way, and that any anger should be directed to where it’s really intended. For all you know, Helen McCrory might not like the decision either. So with all that said, I’d like to wish Helen McCrory: “A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!” I’m really looking forward to seeing your performance. Many Happy Returns and all the Best!

Happy Birthday Helen! I can’t wait to see you in HBP!

And i agree with ogdensnut, it’s not Helen’s fault her appearence was slightly tweaked. Personally, i don’t mind if details like this are changed, i don’t make a fuss if two people are standing rather than kneeling – the movies are BASED on the books, NOT remakes. WB are free to change anything they like, and i am okay with this so long as the plot and HP spirit remains unchanged. And might i remind everyone, JK Rowling agrees with every change made. If she doesn’t like it, she shall step in and change it, like she did with Kreacher. Some things HAVE to be changed because things written in the books can’t be identical to how they appear in the movies – things have to be changed to get points across to the audience. Don’t get me wrong, i HATE WB for changing the release date, but little aspects like hair details and what not isn’t worth a the big fuss it is getting.

don’t worry everyone-she IS blond in the film.

Avatar Image says:

Umm..40? She looks much older than she actually is..Anyway have a happy birthday Helen!

Avatar Image says:

Cheers and many happy returns, Ms McCrory! Your body of work is outstanding. As someone once said, of Queen Elizabeth I: “You’re old, only in age”! You’re one handsome looking lady! Again, Cheers and best wishes!

Just been listening to Pottercast 162. Welcome Back you people! It was great!

The reason why I’m pissed is that when emma’s hair is too light or not to bushy people go and diss emma and blaim her on everything. But when some one else, like helen here, has no liking to narcissa malfoy (hair) people blaim WB but not her. It’s shows that people only blaim emma for the fun of it, not cause they know it’s NOT emma’s fault. ANyway, happy birthday helen!

Avatar Image says:

@ Mione- dont know where you’ve been- but everyone had a COW about Helen to begin with when she was first casted. I personally have loved her since the beginning. And we saw photos of her in a green dress with long blonde locks. I dont know if these are in the movie or not. Anyway some really nasty things were said. Jason has short dark brown hair. Anyway it was all because she wasnt a natural blonde. But its true you have to make it so everyone who watches the movies- not just us die hard fans – understands it. Slughorn, Dudley, Aunt Peatunia, Hermione, Lupin, Tonks, Mr.Weasley, Narcissa- and Im sure there is more they have tweaked the appearance of.

Avatar Image says:

Ah, she’s reached the age called “the new 30s.” And it’s really not that bad, overall.

And welcome to the HP family, where we hate your hair but hope your performance will be fantastic. Yup, just like family!

Avatar Image says:

happy birthdaaay too Helen McCroy, happy birthday to you..(8)

Happy Birthday to such a fantastic actress, can’t wait to see her in Half-Blood Prince (although I’m going to have to- I’m sorry, I’m sorry I couldn’t resist it!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HELEN!!! look i am not complaining.but cissy is supposed to be the youngest sister.here she definitely doesn’t look that.or perhaps helena shuld be made look older.but i hope i get impressed with her after watching the movie as i was with helena carter.one thing thats bothering me in this pic is the way the are holding each others wrists.it would have been a lot better if they just held hands.and it couldn’t have hurt to color her hair blonde. its my fav pic of the movie that has surfaced online till now.ITS MY WALLPAPER.
