Actor David Thewlis (Remus Lupin) attended the premiere of his new film “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” tonight in Dublin, Ireland. You can see new photos of the actor at this event here via Film Magic. “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” is based on the acclaimed novel by John Boyne and stars David Thewlis as a commandant of a Nazi concentration camp, with the trailer for the movie available for download here at Apple or viewing on the official film website. The movie, which is produced by Potter producer David Heyman, screened in Dublin, and was also a fund-raiser for Amnesty International. The IrishTimes reports that “A total of €8,750 was raised for Amnesty International Ireland through the premiere, as it was a partner organisation in the event. Over 780 guests attended and 250 of them paid €35 for tickets. Colm O’Gorman, executive director of Amnesty International Ireland, said the film should help people to recommit to the principles of human rights.”

Wonderful! Great pics. Hope to see the film.

Sorry to be a bit OT guys, but did you know that Rupert Grint is going to star in yet another film besides Cherrybomb? Yes, it’s confirmed that he’s cast to play the role of a hitman’s apprentice in a new film called “The Wild Target”. His co-stars in the film are none other than our Helena Bonham Carter (aka Bellatrix Lestrange), and Billy Nigely! Looks great guys! :)

By the way, if anyone want sources or more details, you can visit either of his web sites (www.rupert-grint.us or www.rupertgrint.net)

Sorry again for being OT.

Peace :)

Oh my goodness, that looks so sad. Even sadder to think those things really did happen.

Woot for David Thewlis!... and if you haven’t read his novel yet, called THE LATE HECTOR KIPLING, then you all should.. it’s really good.

Don’t read the “About the Film” bit though, everyone! It gives away the WHOLE plot – something that the book carefully avoided by having no description at all on the back cover.

You do need to go and see it though :P

Good for you, Linny, I was just about to write similar advice. I stopped reading the “About the Film” section because I suspected I was going to have too much information.

Here’s a question: Is this film going to come to the states? I would LOVE to see the whole thing. You’re right, ‘Karen the vegie’...it looks very sad, and it IS hard to believe those things really did happen. :<

I hear this movie’s supposed to be very good, the reviews for it have been great so I’m definetely goin to see when it arrives next week. And I have absolutly no idea why but I have a kind of weird crush on David Thewlis that I just can’t explain!

@ Confederate Lady: it comes out in the US during November, so hopefully you’ll get a chance to see it :)

@ Graymayne: Ever since I went to GoF and realised that I’d already seen the whole film in pieces online, I’ve tried extra hard to make sure I keep spoilers to a cosy minimum when I go to see films heh.
