Why would any of those things lead you to think Lupin was a traitor? Why would that even cross your mind? It’s obvious the only reason Voldemort mentions Lupin is to embarrass Bellatrix and Narcissa. I don’t see how that could even be construed any other way. And moonyschick was right. Lupin attacked Harry for calling him a coward, which he had no business doing at all.

There might have been more to Lupin’s character, but I don’t think it was anything that more specifics of his death would have clued us in on. We know that Harry cared about him a great deal. Otherwise why would he have bothered to bring him back with the Resurrection stone? I did think that Lupin was very distant in the first part of the book. I’ll give you that. But once I found out about his being married to Tonks and eventually about the baby it was obvious that it was guilt related but he eventually became the happiest we’d ever seen him in the books.

Given his reaction to Pettigrew, it never even crossed my mind that he would turn traitor because it’s just not something he would do. He valued James and Lily too much. And by that point Sirius as well. He wouldn’t have turned against Harry and dishonored all of their memories. But I guess everyone comes up with weird theories every so often.

Ok, obviously you guys have not read mystery novels before. Great authors suprise their readers at the end with main characters and subcharacters. They keep readers guessing who did what and the who, how, and why suprisses us at the end. Let’s look at how Rowling has suprised us in the other books. Now be honost-When you first read the first book, did you not think that Snape was the bad guy, and were you not suprised when it turned that Professor Quirrell was not the stuttering coward he pretended to be. In the second book, did you have any idea that Jenny was the one doing all that stuff becasue she was possessed by the diary and she did not know what she was doing. I could go on with every book in the series and remind you of the times that JK has suprised us with the who, how and why. Also, everytime she left clue hidden throughout the book so that at the end either Harry or Hermine would say, “Of course, it all fits, it all makes sense now.” Now be honost, be completly honost-Where you not suprised at the end of the third book, and was there not even a fraction of a second when Lupin hugs Black that you thought that he was helping Black the whole time and they were both bad guys. (Yes I knew after reading the book that I and many others were wrong when we thought that, but I’m making the point that JK is realy good at suprissing her readers.) As I read the last book I thought, “OK, it is obvious that Muddungings is the traitor, so that means that, because of JK’s writing style and she loves adding mystery to her stories, somebody we least expect is either a traitor, OR IS AN IMPOSTER WHO DRANK POLYJUICE POTION, OR IS WORKING UNDER THE IMPERIOUS CURSE—I stress that because many only concentrait on my thought that he might have been traiotor. Now for all of you who think that I am stupid and for those who think I am like a Death Eater, I just want to congradulate you because I’m sure that all of your predictions turned out to be correct. I’m sorry I’m the only one who followed JK’s writing style to make a prediction, and my prediction turned out to be wrong. So KUDOS to you because all of your gut feelings and predictions always turned out to be correct.

So, Rowling made you believe something that wasn’t right, only for you to realize that it wasn’t (since there’s nothing else saying Remus is evil), and you think that she didn’t do as you expected, because you expected her to do exactly what she did, which is to make you believe something that isn’t true. Ok…

I love Lupin both in the books and in the movies. He is such a sympathic character and David T plays him with such nuances that is is even better .The way he smiled when he saw Harry embrase Sirus ib the OOP, he has such empathy for people. I hope they don’t take out all his scences in DH,

Gervasium Again, congratulations because I’m sure that every hunch or prediction you made was always correct. I wish I could be perfect like you. I simply had a hunch (the same hunch that told me that Madeye in the fourth book was either a traitor or an imposter who drank polyjuice potion) as I was reading the last book and wanted to see if other people had the same hunch. I admit that I was wrong, but I just wanted to see if others felt the same as they read the book.

Asserting that Remus is a traitor is such a stupidity! I’m trying to understand why you keep the ball rolling again and again??? Each one of us may have different opinions…We should be compromising and regardful…For we all gather round here for the same addiction: HARRY POTTER! there’s no use to remind in fact but…

I doubt anybody is going to read this anymore, but I have to say that you really didn’t make it clear in your first post, Dflowers, that you no longer thought that. You made it seem like you thought it was something you thought was behind the scenes, and JKR never told us. I’m sorry for misinterpreting you, but you don’t need to get rude when someone disagrees with you, because you just sound ignorant. We are all HP fans, and we shouldn’t be fighting over something stupid, like a theroy that didn’t happen. Wow, it was a misunderstanding, I’m ready to move on. Now, hopefully I didn’t type this up for nothing, but who knows. At least I tried to to make peace.

hi, I watched the boy in the striped pyjamas and it was very moving and David was great as the Nazi. He must be pleased with his performance. I look forward to seeing him in more demanding roles. Anyone else seen the film?

moonyschick yes I admit that I can be sensitive, but I would like to clerify (I’m not trying to revive anything because I admit that I was wrong). Here was my point. I love to read mystery novels, and I notice that JK adds mystery to her books. When I first began reading DH I had a Mad Eye Moody moment, I thought, “OK Mudduggings is clearly a traitor, so maybe that means that (like in mystery novels) somebody else is either an imposter or a traitor and we have to figure out who-this was the same hunch I had when I thought that Mad Eye in the fourth book was actually working for Vol. Well I was half way correct because as we know, he turned out to be the imposter Mad Eye. In every book, JK suprised use with a person’s true loyalties wether good or bad Fudge for example. I therefore concluded that she would carry this theme into the final book, and again I had a Mad Eye Moony moment. Now, I admit that I was wrong-I was very wrong and I also admit that it makes more sense that he was not an imposter or a bad guy. I guess I got agrevated that people only focused on my comment that Lupin might have been a traiotor and ignored my commonet that he might have been an imposter. Here is was I thought, and I admit that I was wrong. As I read the first part, When it said that somebody was yelling so loud in the basement that everyone could hear, and when Vol. kept talking about Lupin, I thought that Lupin was in his werewolf form, and the Lupin with the Order was and imposter. I thought that when he attacked Harry, “Lupin would never do that—attack a teenager because he was the calm one between him James and Black.” I just wanted to know if there was anybody else out there who thought the same same thing when they read the book. I’m sorry that it got blown wayout of proportion. I do want to admit that I thought it was unescessary that I would be called ignorant, stupid, “How dare you dishonor Lupin after he died so that the world would be safer for his kid” when I was posting an opinion. I guess we look at the characters in a different way. Some think of Lupin and the others as real people. As an English major, I look at them as characters out of JK’s imagination. I base my thoughts on “How is JK going to suprise us?” Now I’m not saying that the other way is bad because I also find myself slipping into the feeling that the Harry Potter world is real. Well, I will continue to read the books, I want everyone to know that I am sorry that I aloud it to carry on.

Guess That Book

"I heard my dad," Harry mumbled. "That's the first time I've ever heard him -- he tried to take on Voldemort himself, to give my mum time to run for it..."[br]Harry suddenly realized that there were tears on his face mingling with the sweat.
