A few updates today regarding the ongoing filming for the two parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. First, word has it that actress Carolyn Pickles (photo here)has been cast in the part of Muggle Studies professor Charity Burbage who appeared so memorably in the opening scene of Deathly Hallows. Again while we at TLC believe this to be accurate, as with all the casting reports over the months, we remind you that official confirmation will arrive only when WB formally announces the cast list for the final Harry Potter movies.

Second, the Press Association and the Telegraph is reporting today that a historic home in the UK may be the location, exterior shot or play some feature in Deathly Hallows. A spokesperson for the National Trust in the UK confirmed reports that location scouts for the Potter films are interested in Hardwick Hall. The articles state: A spokesman for National Trust said: “It’s certainly true that they have been to look but we are awaiting for confirmation.”There’s no guarantee that they are coming and, even if they did use it, it wouldn’t be until next year.” Again, we have no idea what this impressive building might be used for, whether it be for exteriors of Malfoy Manor, having to do with a flashback scene or what, we simply do not more. Should further news on this be released,we will of course update when we can.

Also a reminder too that location filming is due in the next weeks or so. Thanks to London Taxi Tours for their vigilance in photographing an area in the Swinley Forest area of the UK, and recently Burnley Beeches where they say that some filming already took place, possibly involving Dan Radcliffe and Emma Watson in some additional camping scenes.

Finally scores and scores of readers alerted us to this video taken on the recent Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince prop train in France, containing interviews with Bonnie Wright and the Phelps brothers who confirm they will be filming for Deathly Hallows next month. (Be sure to watch the entire video for fabulous looks at many of the props and sets in HBP)

Avatar ImageDanielBonnie28 says: wow second comment!!! that is awesome!!Avatar Imagemollywobble says: I'm pretty sure Hardwick Hall was used in Joe Wright's Pride and Prejudice as Catherine de Bourg's home. I'm sure film crews use it all the time. Pretty cool though.Avatar ImageLauraBC says: I couldn't be happier about this news because I really had my doubts that they were going to keep that infamous Malfoy Manor scene in the film... they wanted to take 'Deathly Hallows' out... you never know! It's going to be one hell of a scene with Ralph, Alan, Jason, Helena, Tom... wow.Avatar ImageJaymie Brooks says: They should have hired Jo to be Charity Burbage! That would have been the ultimate cameo. I mean, all she has to do is lie unconscious, and then say "Please Severus" a couple of times before dying.Avatar Imagelizziebennett says: I agree that Hardwick Hall is way too large for Malfoy Manor. Beautiful though. I mean, sure the Malfoy's have lots of money and have a large house to be sure, but its not a palace for goodness sake.Avatar Imagesueml says: I don't know - That's pretty much exactly how I imagined Malfoy Manor. I always thought of them as living in some huge estate.Avatar ImagexxIBelieveInNarglesxx says: cool news, hopefully there'll be even more photos from the location filmings. Hardwick Hall seems to be a bit too big for Malfoy's Manor, though. Oh and I agree with everyone else i wante Jo to play Charity :):)Avatar ImageHagrid 713 says: Like others here I'm glad they seem to be sticking to the book and keeping the Malfoy manor scenes inAvatar Imagebudgie says: I pictured Malfoy Manor as a large house and grounds. The good news is that the opening scenes will be preserved.Avatar ImageR-for-H says: Sounds cool!Avatar Imagedanaskeeter says: I like the interviews with Tom and Bonnie. Tom said Draco and Harry fight in the bathroom without wands....I don't remember that part.Avatar Imagesupergirlinfrance says: I always pictured the house black Avatar ImageDolemite says: Why isn't Malfoy Manor huge?Avatar Imagevicky granger says: Great ! And I'm SOOOOOOOO sad I coudn't go to the train, I waited for an hour, but the line was just too long and I had to go home ! =( But it looks awesome...Avatar Imagecghambright says: That scene with Chairty Burbage is going to be soooo depressing and intense!! I wonder if they're going to stay true to the book and have the movie open with that scene?? But I love the place that they might use for Malfoy Manor...it's PERFECT!!! It's even got the long walk way!! :DAvatar ImageHydrus says: Yeah, I think that's about the size I would have thought. I always pictured the Malfoys as loaded - and it's not too much larger than some of the places in my old Dallas neighborhood (Our house had been somebody's 'summer cottage' in the 20's, and I thought it was big until I saw the ones closer to the lake.)Avatar ImageGiant Fairy says: I imagined Malfoy Manor white..... Maybe the cut away parts for the film and need the interior, rooms, aisles, ?? Stephenie Mayer.....isn t British. And Charity could be anyone, you don t even see a face, right????Avatar Imagesunlitdays says: oh man lol remember that one pottercast when john said Jo should play charity burbage? lol omg im still laughing about that :DAvatar ImageIt must be bunnies says: I always imagined Malfoy Manor white and smaller.Avatar Imagesaffran says: It will be interesting to see how well they follow the book.Avatar ImageMr. Brightside says: So that means they won't stick with the UK drawing for the Malfoy manor? Too bad if this is going to be the manor...Avatar ImageHorcruxalej says: Cool... i also pictured the house black or very dark...Avatar ImageDrome says: That's cool. : DAvatar Imagebadger666 says: Cool! I really hope they open with the Charity scene. That would be such a great dramatic scene to open with. Sounds like they're really trying to stay true to the books as much as possible for the DH movies. Yay.Avatar ImageNeil in Scotland says: Oh, poor Charity Burbage! Her's will be about the shortest appearance of any named character in the films.Avatar Imagenomisbrowning says: i think the house is much too large for malfoy manorAvatar Imagelisajean65 says: Jayme...that would be so awesome to have Jo in one of the last films! That video was really great! I would have loved to have been there and seen all that in person! Hardwick Hall seems a bit big for Malfoy Manor and doesn't really look how I pictured it. Maybe it will be used for something else or they will somehow make changes to it.Avatar ImageMatea says: cool! but Hardwick hall is waaaay too big for Malfoy Manor.it must be something else.Avatar Imagethallo says: Cool, i cant wait to see the scene in the Malfoy Manor... Avatar Imagesimos says: Exciting news. I wanted Jo for charity's role too :)Avatar ImageWingardium Leviosa says: I love the video!Avatar ImageHPHealer says: Just an idea.....Hardwick Hall = Durmstrang Institute?? Anyone think that seems likely??Avatar ImageRosemunde says: Well, Charity ends up rotating while hanging in midair. That sounds quite uncomfortable when you consider all the harnessing the actress will have to wear so as much fun as it would be to see Jo in a cameo I am betting she won't want to go through all that. Would be a security nightmare, too.Avatar Imagerealspace says: Awww, I thought John had the perfect casting for Charity Burbage: Stephanie Meyer!Avatar ImagePompleMoose says: Darn it.. I had all my money on either Stephanie or Jo.. :DAvatar Imagemoglet says: I rather Imagine that Malfoy Manor could be very big indeed, the driveway up to it is described as having a high hedge "running off into the distance beyond the pair of impressive wrought iron gates". The surroundings appear to be extensive and impressive, you would need a pretty big house at the end of that or it would look rather incongruous. I like this choice of actress for Charity because much as many people would seem to like the idea you really couldn't have Jo it would be far too distracting.Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: Amazing how much "stuff" they are cranking out. Not like the drought during the pre release of OOTP...Avatar ImageJewunit says: I'm glad to know they're being active for the DH movie.Avatar ImageHPNAIV says: Looks good =]Avatar Imageweasleygirl101 says: malfoy manor is perfect1 i would love Jo 4 Charity we should start a petition ( only messing) great interviewsAvatar Imagesunlitdays says: ive changed my mind. STEPHANIE MEYER FOR CHARITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL THE WAY BABY!!! ohhhhhhmg i cant stop laughing :DAvatar ImageHGROSS44 says: Good postings can't wait they have a good choice in location for the shoot.Avatar Imagemoglet says: I've always thought of the Malfoys as being from an old family who had always had plenty of money, therefore lots of inherited wealth and a really prestigious property. Can't wait to see how they do the interior.Avatar ImageOldMrToad says: I dunno, Hardwick Hall does seem to be a bit rich for the Malfoys. I expect large and ostentatious but not palacial. With two films totaling more that 5 hours (a guess) they can leave in much more even with recaps at the beginning of part two. May I live long enough to see them... OMTAvatar ImageRaWr...WeReWoLf says: very cool! hardwick hall kinda looks like how i imagined malfoy manorAvatar Imagehermyone08 says: Yay, looks like everything is falling into place! :)Avatar ImageTiger Lily says: I am pleased that they cast Charity I was a little worried that they cut that part of the scene out. As for the house it will fill the part well. It looks like the type of house that the Malfoys would live in.Avatar ImageLeeann says: i'm so immature. i giggled when tom said he and dan enjoyed getting rough with each other in the bathroom. i love draco/harry...Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: she kinda looks like i imagines her. yeah i think hardwick hall was lady catherine de boughs house.Avatar ImageSTARZOE says: cool!! :DAvatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: Poor Charity Burbage! I wonder what they will use that house for!
