Over the years we’ve brought you news from some of the companies who work on the Harry Potter films, notably the companies who create special effects seen in the movies. One such company, Rising Sun has provided another look at the work they’ve done for the movies, this time for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. You can see the meticulous and time consuming work done in creating things such as Dumbledore’s wounded hand, and the scene at Slughorn’s home at the beginning of movie at this link, or here, then where it says ‘launch VFX breakdowns.’ or here now in our galleries. Enjoy!

Thanks Matt, Rising Sun and SS!

Avatar Imageultraviolet says: i love behind the scenes stuff!Avatar Imagegreatpetie83 says: I especially like the 'Mary Poppins' moment when everything is put back together again.Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: Very cool stuff!Avatar Imagesilvia_storti says: Behind the scenes are sometimes better than movies themselves! And with HP I can never get enough snippets of movie magic!Avatar Imagelunalovegoodlove says: Wow, that was amazing- I am very interested with all the behind the scenes stuff. The scectrumcempra scene was cool to look at step by step.Avatar Imagewandmastercalum says: Cool that was really intresting.Avatar Image-MischiefManaged- says: That moment at Slughorn's home when Dumbledore sweeps the room with his wand and everything gets put back into place is definitely one of the coolest moments of HBP! And it's also yet another reminder why I fell in love with the wizarding world -- moments like that make me go *SQUEEEE* :) It's just so COOL, you know. I can't really put it in words in any language why it makes me feel like so giddy, it just does. I'd give everything I own and then some to be able to do magic in the first place, let alone to do something like that. Also, I'm very very surprised that they had included that Umbridge on a trick wire thingy from Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. When I interviewed James and Oliver back in July, they specifically said that the Umbridge on the trick wire was real, it was done with carefully balanced weights. According to James and Oliver, most of the things in the shop were real, CGI was only used for the fireworks and other rather obvious things like that (like the girl on the video whose hair sticks up). I really hope we'll get to see more making of stuff from the joke shop scene.Avatar ImageX-Lillie-Lovegood-X says: OH Awsomeeeeeeeeee im already counting down to the hagrids hut photo LOL The hut of requirement will be fully funcitional with built in wheels so hagrid can make a speedy escape LOL xxxAvatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: will loooook in a sec :)Avatar ImageGranger10 says: oooooooo.....that's interseting!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar ImageBlatcher914 says: Wow that was really cool, just to see the process of how things fit together, especially the scene with Snape,Draco and Harry.
